Artist Services Interns assist staff in the day-to-day management of a multi-venue dance festival and are responsible for a wide variety of logistics associated with artist services, campus management, and customer service.

Interns rotate between two assignments throughout the internship: While on Leir Stage rotation, this individual will be the point person for all logistics regarding outdoor performances for that week–answering questions, coordinating technical needs with the Production Department, and general hospitality. Responsibilities include working to coordinate housing, travel arrangements, and assisting with any events or studio needs that may arise. While on the general Artist Services rotation, this individual will support the staff with the general coordination of travel, housing, logistics, special events, support of special guests, School participants and faculty, scholars, etc.

Each rotation also carries ongoing Campus Management responsibilities including ensuring patron comfort and safety, calendar management of spaces/logistics, answering general inquiries, assisting patrons, event logistics, and driving patrons in golf carts. Administrative duties include data entry and maintenance, resource scheduling and tracking, and participation in various research projects. In short, the Artist Services Interns work with all departments to make sure every aspect of Festival and campus life runs smoothly.

Intern must demonstrate a genuine interest in company, stage, or event management and have experience liaising with artists and technical staff. They should be detail-oriented, organized, and efficient at multitasking, and possess strong project management, writing, and editing skills. They must be able to work long hours through frequent interruptions, lift up to 25 pounds, have a valid driver’s license, tackle projects both independently and collaboratively, and have excellent customer service skills. This position will be required to provide hospitality to diverse artists, thus cultural competency and language skills are a plus. Computer skills are required in Google Suite, Word, Excel, and Internet research. A successful candidate must be able to do all of this while maintaining a positive attitude and a sense of humor.
