Five Projects Awarded Oregon Wine Country Plates Matching Grants

Travel Oregon is pleased to announce that five projects have been awarded a total of $125,500 in grant funding through the Oregon Wine Country Plates Matching Grants Program.

Funded through revenue generated by the sale of the Wine Country license plates, the matching grants program helps advance wine and culinary tourism projects that improve local economies and communities by enhancing, expanding and promoting Oregon’s travel and tourism industry.

These projects will help drive visitation all over the state, highlighting a variety of ways to experience Oregon’s wine and culinary bounty. Awarded projects will be completed by May 2020.

The grant awardees and their projects are:

Bounty of Yamhill County (BOYC) to fund professional video and photography during the 2019 BOYC event that will be part of a brand refresh and included on their new website as they market the 2020 event. ($5,000)

Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative to support local DMOs by producing a 360-degree virtual reality regional video highlighting wine, beer and culinary offerings in Baker, Grant, Harney and Union counties. ($13,000)

Rogue Valley Vintners to develop a compelling, Rogue Valley brand and launch a comprehensive, cross-platform marketing and communications strategy incorporating the new brand. ($50,000)

Umpqua Valley Winegrowers Association to execute a cohesive marketing effort combining website, social and other platforms that promotes tourism to Umpqua Valley wine region. ($7,500)

Willamette Valley Wineries Association to develop an integrated digital marketing platform and destination management system that increases high value wine tourism to the Willamette Valley AVA. ($50,000)

The next funding cycle for the Oregon Wine Country Plates Matching Grants program will open in January 2020.
