Instructors, do you need a persistent link to a library resource to embed in Canvas, Powerpoint, or another course tool? Students, do you need a link to Milner Library’s access for an online journal article, database, eBook, streaming video, audio recording, etc. for homework or to send to a classmate?

First, try searching for the item by title using the Everything search box on the library’s home page under Start Your Research:

  • Find a book, eBook, streaming video, or audio recording: Change the Everything dropdown to Library Catalog to search only items from Milner Library.
  • Find an article: Change the Everything dropdown to Articles to search only articles from a variety of Milner Library databases.

The How do I get a link to an article (or other database item) so that I can view it later? FAQ tells how to copy the permalink for an item that links to Milner Library’s access for the item.

If you are wanting to share a link to an article (or other database item) from a specific database, use the Open Athens Link Generator to ensure the receiver gets access to Milner Library’s content. The Open Athens Link Generator will put a proxy prepend onto the URL you want to share that will prompt the receiver to login with their ULID.

To use the Open Athens link generator to get a proxied library resource:
