This site is a tribute to Ian also known as 'hampers' by some of his friends, who was born in Kings Lynn on March 03, 1936. A much loved brother, husband, father, grand dad, uncle and trusted and reliable friend, Ian will always be remembered as a kind, gentle, funny, dependable, intelligent, cuddly, generous, tenacious, strong irreplaceable man.

Ian had a house in a small village in south-west France - Pontcirq, Lot. He loved being there and made many friends. Thank you, Ian, for the good times we spent together.

I always enjoyed working with Ian when Leeds University field course visited the Institute of Naval Medicine (Gosport) or Portsmouth University each year, and when I went to Leeds to lecture. A positive, upbeat man with a wealth of knowledge and experience. A sad loss. Condolences to his family and friends. Mike Tipton.
