Hyuong Ju Song attained a Ph.D. in Hospitality Management from the Pennsylvania State University, and a M.S. and B.A. in hotel management from Kyunghee University, South Korea.

Song’s major research interests have focused on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance) issues and corporate growth strategy in the hospitality industry, in terms of the impact on financial/accounting performance. He has extended his research scope and capabilities into regulation changes and entrepreneurship, focusing on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the hospitality and tourism industry context.

To date, Song has published research articles in several peer-reviewed journals, including Tourism Management, International Journal of Hospitality Management, and International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, and Annals of Tourism Research.

Song has been working as an ad hoc reviewer of multiple peer-reviewed journals, such as Tourism Management, International Journal of Hospitality Management, and International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, as well as Economic Modeling. He teaches Hospitality Industry Financial Accounting and Data Analysis in Hospitality & Tourism Research.
