B.C.’s construction workers deserve better.
Flush Toilets. Now.

Tell Premier David Eby to support construction workers.

Most B.C. construction workers don’t have flushing toilets or running water at work. They’re forced to put up with dirty, smelly, overfilled and unlit porta-potties. Construction companies won’t fix this issue even though they often provide flushing toilets for managers and supervisors. Because of our work, Premier David Eby has committed to requiring flushing toilets on construction sites. This is amazing news, but there’s still a lot more to do.

Show your support for B.C.’s construction workers and send a message.

There are more than 200,000 construction workers in B.C. Most of them don’t have access to flushing toilets and running water at their workplace.

This is a matter of health and safety. Currently, construction workers are forced to endure dirty, smelly, overfilled and unlit porta-potties.

This is about dignity. If a porta-potty was the only washroom you could use at work, you wouldn’t tolerate it either.

It costs construction companies less than $1 per day per worker to provide flushing toilets on job sites but they refuse to do so.

The B.C. Government has committed to requiring flushing toilets on construction sites, but there’s a lot more to do.

Send Premier David Eby a message and tell him to support construction workers.

We are incredibly grateful that Premier David Eby has committed to a legal requirement to make flushing toilets mandatory at construction sites where the project has 25 workers or more.

But there’s still a lot more to do. Here’s what we’re asking for from the B.C. government:

checkmark

Quickly move forward with the implementation of a legal requirement for flush toilets on construction sites of 25 workers or more.

checkmark

Ensure any legal requirement for flush toilets ensures washrooms that are clean, lit, have cooling/heating and have running water for hand washing.

checkmark

Direct WorkSafeBC to provide guidance and direction to construction companies on the new flush toilet regulations.

checkmark

Require WorkSafeBC to follow up and enforce these changes in a timely manner.
