BALTIMORE (WBFF) The latest Ceasefire weekend in Baltimore officially comes to a close before midnight Sunday.

People participating in the grassroots, 72-hour call for no murders took part in dozens of anti-violence, and community building events over the weekend.

On Sunday, a group gathered in north Baltimore in honor of people touched by violence in Baltimore.

The group read the names of three people recently killed by gun violence, including Morgan State University student Kevon Dix and Isabel Villalobos V De Vasquez.

Dix, 21, was shot and killed in northeast Baltimore last month. No arrests have been made in the case.

Vasquez, 78, was an innocent bystander when a man opened fire outside a shopping center in Landsdowne just weeks ago. Two brothers were arrested in connection to the case.

Many Ceasefire events centered on mothers given the holiday weekend.

“We had an event today where we bailed out mothers who were in jail,” said Declan Reese, a youth ambassador for Ceasefire. “We also made cards for mothers at another event.”

The weekend did not come without violence.

Two people were murdered in a triple shooting in southwest Baltimore Friday night.

Police have not yet identified the victims or said what they believe led up to the shooting.

No arrests have been made in the case.

On Saturday organizers of Ceasefire went to the location of the shooting.

It was there members cleansed and blessed the area.

“We want you to know you matter to us,” said Erricka Bridgeford, co-founder of Baltimore Ceasefire. “We see you.”
