From Concept to Reality: Helping Students Find Books They Love Through Genrefication
Tuesday, December 12th, 4 - 5 pm MST

Embark on a step-by-step journey with Telluride Middle/High School Teacher Librarian Dori Crowe as she shares the process of developing and implementing a plan to genrefy fiction titles in the school library. Gain practical insights into all aspects of the project– communicating with the school community, weeding, redesigning the library space, sorting titles by genre, updating the catalog, creating signage, and introducing students to their new library layout.

Presenter Dori Crowe juggles many roles as a rural Teacher Librarian. She is the Telluride School Library Media Specialist, Middle School Yearbook Teacher, and Independent Studies Teacher. Prior to her role as a teacher-librarian, Dori spent 19 years as the lead teacher at Telluride Preschool and before that, four years teaching 1st grade in Chicago Public Schools.
