National Weather Service Melbourne SKYWARN Registration
Several 2-hour "virtual classes" will be taught by NWS meteorologists via webinar for residents of east-central Florida. You will be able to participate using your own PC. A webinar registration link will be provided to you by email approximately one week prior to the class for you to participate in the training class.

One of the most important assets to the NWS warning, forecast, and verification process is the SKYWARN Spotter Network. NWS trained weather spotters provide real-time reports of tornadoes, hail, winds, flooding and hurricane damage. SKYWARN spotters include Ham Radio operators, emergency responders, communication dispatchers, citizen groups and you! Please check below for upcoming SKYWARN spotter classes scheduled for east-central Florida. The classes are free, and all you need to do is RSVP by filling out the information on this survey.

East-central Florida residents will be issued a Spotter ID Card upon completion of this class. You must participate and be at least 18 years old to become an official spotter for NWS Melbourne, and to obtain your spotter ID card. However, residents younger than 18 can take the class for educational purposes.

Please know that we do not share your information with anyone - it is solely used by our forecasters to contact you if a potentially dangerous storm is being tracked on weather radar approaching your location and we require additional information.

If you have any questions, please send an email to: sr-mlb.webmaster@noaa.gov

Please submit only ONE registration per person. All duplicate entries will be deleted.
