Transient Enrollment

Students who have been approved to take classes at another institution should consider all of the following:

  • Students who are in their first term at UCF, must enroll in at least one UCF class to avoid the cancellation of admission.

  • Students who do not enroll at UCF for two or more consecutive major terms who later decide to enroll as a transient student, must be enrolled in at least one UCF class for the initial readmit term.

  • Students who have not exceeded their annual Pell Grant eligibility may be eligible for a Pell Grant award.

  • Transient hours cannot be used to fulfill hour requirements for institutional programs; programs such as the UCF Grant, UCF Orion, UCF Scholars Award, Knights Opportunity, First Generation Matching Grant, Charge On! 15, and Pegasus Scholarships. Check the Program Eligibility Chart for detailed requirements for each program.

  • All Federal Direct Stafford and PLUS Loans require a minimum of six (6) hours at UCF for eligibility.

  • Students, who enroll in any UCF hours, will be responsible for paying the UCF tuition & fees by the payment deadline.

  • Students are responsible for paying tuition & fees to the host institution by their payment deadline. This includes state college courses taken on the UCF Campus.

  • Only courses used to satisfy UCF degree requirements will be considered for financial aid eligibility. Student’s must be in an eligible degree seeking program to be considered for aid.

  • Students who enroll in courses that were not previously approved through the Florida Shines process must complete a new Florida Shines application.

  • Drops or withdrawals from courses may require repayment of financial aid.

  • Disbursement of aid (if applicable) will occur upon completion of the transient enrollment process. This will usually begin midpoint in the semester as long as your file is complete, and all eligibility requirements are met.

  • A student’s SAP status is evaluated every semester to include newly earned grades into their status. If a student is no longer meeting all SAP standards, they will receive notification to their university email account regarding the change in status and how the change will impact their aid eligibility for their next term of enrollment.

  • This office will not accept courses taken without Confirmation of Advisor Authorization found at FloridaShines.org.

Forms Needed for Transient Enrollment at UCF

If attending a Florida public community/state college or university, complete the Transient Student Admission Application through Florida Virtual Campus at FloridaShines.org.

OR

If attending any college or university other than a Florida public institution, submit the following documents to the Office of Student Financial Assistance on or before the withdrawal deadline of the term in which aid is to be disbursed:

  1. Transient Notification Form for Financial Aid for Out of State and Private Institutions.
  2. A copy of the Fee Invoice and Class Schedule from the transient (host) Institution.
  3. A copy of the Transient Student Approval Form with required signatures from Academic Advisor, Academic Services (if required) and UCF Registrar’s Office.
  4. A completed Consortium Agreement Form to be completed by the transient school’s Financial Aid Office.
Please note:  Students who are enrolled in transient hours must make arrangements to pay their host institution’s tuition and fees by their applicable tuition payment deadline.

It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that the visited school promptly provides UCF Registrar’s Office with academic transcripts, confirming that the attempted hours are completed.

Students may not receive financial aid from two institutions at the same time. Students must decide which of the two institutions is the primary school at which they are degree-seeking and apply for aid there. Any inaccuracy will result in a mandatory repayment to one of the two schools for the overpayment.
