Big thanks to our wonderful panel on the opportunity, need, and urgency for monitoring nature with Michelle Sims, Woody Turner, Seamus Lombardo, PhD and Mabel Baez Schon at #satsummit. - Nature is critical to human life on earth through agriculture, water, fisheries and more - What do we need more of? Ground data, openness, and thoughtful, equitable engagement with the communities that depend on, value, and will suffer from loss of nature - Even better? Hyperspectral sensors such as NASA PACE, and Planet Tanager will open up new possibilities of mapping vegetation, and species. - Many new products coming soon, keep an eye out for grasslands and better alert data from WRI’s Land & Carbon Lab - Have a project using and showing the value of earth science information? Apply for a WWF CONVEI grant https://lnkd.in/eHcM2K2a Much work remains to be done to bend the curve of biodiversity loss, we’ve seen from initiatives like Global Forest Watch that satellite data can be the catalyst to accelerate action!
