COVID-19 Policies & Protocols

Seattle University continues to base its decisions and policies on the latest public health guidance. Any changes to the university’s policies and practices relating to COVID-19 will be shared as soon as the university reviews the updated guidelines and determines what steps will be needed or remain in place to continue protecting our campus community as we return to an in-person learning environment.

COVID-19 Face Covering Policy

As of March 21, 2022, face coverings/masks are optional on campus, including indoors, with a few exceptions. Effective April 6, 2023, masks may continue to be required in the Student Health Center, Counseling & Psychological Services and Disability Services.

You are strongly encouraged to wear a mask if you are experiencing any symptoms as well as following recommendations for masks after a COVID-19 infection or close contact exposure.

Please respect the choice of individuals who continue wearing a face covering. Let’s continue to be supportive of and compassionate to one another as we each navigate COVID and determine what is best or necessary for us individually. High-quality masks such as KN95s provide the best protection.

COVID-19 Vaccination Policy

Effective July 1, 2023, Seattle University no longer requires students, faculty and staff to provide documentation of their COVID-19 vaccinations. However, the university strongly encourages all members of the campus community to stay up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines, and therefore get vaccinated against COVID-19 and receive any recommended booster dose(s) when eligible to do so. Visit CDC for more information.
