Fun Learning Opportunities at Brooks Museum of Art!
Hello!
I am looking forward to another fun year working with English Language Learners here at Horn Lake Intermediate School! Please see our "Units of Study" page for anchor charts, helpful websites, and other info about what we are studying. While we will be working hard here at school, please know that I will still need your help! The more you can do at home, the more successful you child can be. Together we make a great team! How Can You Help At Home? * Read with your child. It doesn't matter if you read to them or they read to you, as long as you do it together. It doesn't even matter what language you use! * Talk about what they read. Ask them questions to make sure they understand. * Encourage them to write - a diary or journal, stories, letters or emails to friends or relatives... * Be involved! Help your child with homework and studying so you know what they are learning about. * Talk to them! Anything they might be interested in or curious about is better than having their nose stuck in a video game. :-)
