Native Language(s) Determination Form
Dear International Students,

Many graduate students receive teaching appointments while pursuing their degrees (e.g., graduate teaching assistant, graduate instructor). Prior to receiving teaching appointments, students are required to attend the Graduate Teaching Orientation (GTO).    

For international graduate students, Missouri State law additionally requires an assessment of a student's ability to communicate orally in English if they did not receive their primary and secondary education in a nation or territory where English is not the only primary language (NOTE: English being a country's official language does not necessarily mean that it is its primary language).
