We are organizing a communications training session on Palestine for funders, donors, and philanthropic networks. The communications consultant Yasmin Hamidi will offer tools and talking points to help us articulate the current situation in Gaza and broader context with partners, media, and other funders.
Please invite colleagues from your organization, individual donors, staff from other funders, and trustees who have been struggling to voice their opinions for Palestine. We want to keep this a safe space for listening and sharing.
About Yasmin Hamidi:
Yasmin Hamidi is lead consultant at Yasmin & Co, a small network of communications practitioners focused on advancing human rights and justice for all. One of their core practice areas is working with organizations involved in human rights advocacy and grantmaking in the Middle East. Their scope of work for these groups has included communications strategy and planning, crisis planning, message development, media relations, spokesperson training, and digital media strategy.
Prior to establishing her consultancy, Yasmin served on the senior leadership team of the Institute for Middle East Understanding (IMEU), first as development director and then as communications director, from 2010 through 2017. During that time, she worked with dozens of Palestinian civil society and solidarity organizations, as well as mainstream journalists around the country, to amplify Palestinian perspectives and stories.
