2023-24 ArtsECO Intern Application Form
ArtsECO Interns are UWM Art Education and School of Education* students who are PAID to partner with Milwaukee area arts education organizations to get hands-on experiences in K-12 arts education and tap into new professional networks throughout Milwaukee. Let us help you make those connections through an ArtsECO Internship!

We are currently accepting applications for Spring and Summer 2024. Please note that available internship sites are determined by a number of factors and take time to compile. As soon as an internship position opens, we'll add it to the opportunities list (more info below) and share that information with new applicants. We appreciate your patience during this process and will soon be in touch!

Details about the ArtsECO Internship Program:
  • Pay rates are highly competitive for UWM student workers, starting at $12/hr, and $14/hr after one semester.
  • Intern recruitment will continue throughout the year.
  • Funding for ArtsECO Internship prioritizes students majoring in art ed & education, though all arts students are welcome and encouraged to apply.

Internship application & placement process:
  1. Check out the list of available internship sites: ArtsECO 2023-24 INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES.docx

  6. Attend the ArtsECO Intern Orientation at the beginning of the semester.
  7. Once your HR CBC clears and paperwork has been completed, you'll begin your internship!

New internship host sites will continue to be added throughout the year. If you're open to learning about these internship sites, please indicate that in the application.

Have you ever been a UWM student worker before? ALL New UWM student workers must complete a Criminal Background Check (CBC) through UWM's HR Dept (at no cost to you). This You must reply to that request BEFORE being assigned an ArtsECO Internship.

Please note: UWM's Human Resources Department (HR) CBC does not and will not honor the CBC Art Ed & SOE students complete in their art/education classes to work with PK-12 MPS students (observations, field placements, student teaching, etc.). UWM HR goes through Hire Right to conduct background checks.
