Think back to the last two weeks. In less than 14 days, 6 different Republicans — including Will “Future of the Republican Party” Hurd — have announced they’re done explaining their party’s deeply unpopular health care repeal agenda, and they’re done with the misery of life in the minority.
In the last two weeks we got a whole new term in the American political vernacular: the “TEXODUS!”
Now, imagine being NRCC Chairman Tom Emmer trying to convince wavering Washington Republicans in your caucus not to retire. For that matter, imagine being NRCC Recruitment Chair Susan Brooks (R-Retired) trying to convince promising recruits to get off the sidelines and run for Congress.
Yeah, we can’t either…. For that reason, the DCCC is making four new additions to its 2020 Republican Retirement Watch List.
