The Board meeting began at 6:01 PM with Board President Chad Collins calling the meeting to order and making a videoconference announcement which may be found

Following Roll Call the Board of Trustees moved into Executive Session which is a time where limited items such as personnel actions may be discussed. No votes are taken in Executive Session.
The Formal Board meeting began at 7:11 PM.

The Board of Trustees considered the Board of Trustees Position 3 Vacancy and approved the recommendation of a vetting process to fill the vacancy by appointment.
The Board of Trustees approved the Order Calling the November 3, 2020 Election for Position 4, 5 and 7 of the Lovejoy ISD Board of Trustees.
*The Board approved and ordered a general election for the aforementioned positions for the May 2, 2020 uniform election date. Considering the issues surrounding COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the Proclamation issued by Governor Abbott on March 18, 2020 and the Election Advisory 2020-12 issued by the Secretary of State, the District postponed the May 2, 2020 to the next uniform election date on November 3, 2020.
All trustee candidate filings for the May 2, 2020 election shall remain valid for the November 3, 2020 election and shall not be reopened.
The Secretary of State required this new Order with details regarding the November 3, 2020 election to be approved by the Board of Trustees.
