Buried secrets never stay hidden in the South.

Olivia
When you find out that your fiancé is arrested for swindling over ten million dollars from his clients, you do what any sane woman would do. You escape reality and go undercover, trading in your city-girl Louboutins for country-pumpkin cowboy boots.

It wasn’t a forever change—it was temporary. I only had to stay here until things back home got straightened out, or so I thought.

Casey

I was riding horses before I was walking, or at least that was what they told me. I always knew I would take over the family farm. It’s in my blood.

Country boy at heart, the minute I saw her dragging her luggage up the gravel driveway I knew she was out of my league.

I shouldn’t have started anything with her, because I knew she was just passing through.

I couldn’t stop it, I fell in love with her. Even though I knew, in the end, she would leave me.

Southern Comfort is the second book in Natasha Madison’s Southern Series and after reading the first, I was looking forward to Casey and Olivia’s story.

Olivia is the best friend of Casey’s sister, Kallie. After her ex-fiancé did some really bad things and put her on some bad people’s radar, Olivia temporarily relocated to the small town Kallie is from. Olivia and Casey have chemistry from the moment they first meet, but there is a lot going on in Olivia’s life.

I feel like this book centered more around Olivia’s drama and Casey’s secret, and had much less of a focus on the romance than the first. I liked it, but it missed the love mark for me. Now the next book, Beau and Savannah’s story, is the one I’ve been dying for! I’m so happy it’s next and can’t wait to get to it.

Overall I’m enjoying this series and even though I didn’t love this quite as much as the first, I’m looking forward to reading the next in the series! If you’re looking for a small town romance that’s got a little angst and suspense, give this one a go.

I got to handed to the author. She did not only wrote one but two books with stupid shallow characters in this one series.
In this book everyone and their mama cried even the damn fly.. 😂😂

The heroine cried 4 times in just one page, lost count how many times she and everyone were leaking from their eyes. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Not to mention how both were acting like teenagers. Sit the fuck down and talk about your damn fucking feelings. They were assuming shit about each other and it drove me to the damn wall!

There’s no OW drama unless you count the girl from the bar that it was clearly an ex hook up of this hero. And the obviously asf man that wanted to kill the stupid woman. The heroine was a wussy. She would faint and cried like no ones business. 😳 she even was in the hospital because she fainted and got a concussion after hitting her big head and was unconscious for a long time. And everyone was acting like she was on her deathbed.

A hero who was a millionaire cowboy that owned half of the town with his private jet and the Victoria secret model heroine who went out of her way to tell us that she wore 200$ panties.

Natasha Madison has done it again. I enjoyed Southern Chance, the first book in the series and was looking forward to Southern Comfort. I didn’t think she would have been able to top book one, but she surprised me by delivering a tale filled with raw passion, romance and suspense. Although this installment features a different couple, its best that the books be read in order as the story lines and the characters are interconnected.

The focus of this installment is on Olivia and Casey, whom readers met in the first book. Olivia left Los Angeles to hideout on her best friend’s family. What she never expected was the troubles she thought she had escaped had followed her to her newfound sanctuary. Added to that was the danger to her heart from meeting and spending time with Casey, the handsome and sexy cowboy.

Told from alternate POVs, the reader gains insight into the thoughts and feelings of the protagonists. Here we have two individuals, one who has never experienced unconditional love and the other who has an awesome family but had his heart broken. Neither was looking for love, but it found them both under stressful circumstances.

Despite all she has been through from her childhood to present, Olivia has proven to be resilient. She has a fun personality, and it was easy to see why Casey and his family gravitated towards her.

Readers will be amazed there is more to Casey than being a cowboy. Only his family has privy to that side of him, and now Olivia has joined that rank. Olivia and Casey had crazy chemistry between them. Readers would enjoy Casey’s protective nature towards those he loves. Sexual tension was on a high along with the anxiety that danger was near. The twists and turns added an extra layer of excitement to the story.

The overall arc for this installment was neatly wrapped up, although it would have been nice to see the villain suffer after what he put Olivia through. The ending paved the way for the next installment, which based on the reactions of the characters involved promises to be a story of epic proportions.

Conclusion/Recommendation

Looking for a fast-paced read, featuring a slow burn romance then Southern Comfort is the perfect read.

"You look perfect," I say, and when she looks over at me her whole face lights up. "You know, in all this time, no one has ever said that to me," she says, looking back in the mirror. "I was told I'm beautiful, and outstanding, exquisite, but I was never perfect."

I am going to make this short and sweet - get to the point and walk away. I was hoping that Southern Chance was a one off problem, so I jumped into Southern Comfort hoping that the issues I had with the first book would not carry over to the second book. It soon became very apparent that this wasn’t a one off issue I was having. She was still repeating things that had no need to be repeated from one chapter to the next. She still had shallow characters more concerned about fashion than circumstance. And I honestly couldn't handle Olivia in the way she treated Casey, in the first book so I unfortunately went in with a chip on my shoulder from the first book.....and yes, it carried over. Sadly.

I have enjoyed a few books by Madison to the point that she keeps me coming back for more. Her synopses always capture me and the covers are always beautiful. This one, I was hoping for the same pull that I have experienced before. The one that kept me coming back and sharing this with excitement. To be fair, I did DNF a book of hers right before starting this series, and the first one in this series was almost a DNF as well - so unfortunately, I don't think I went in with a clear conscience. I think the magic has worn off for me. I'm not saying she's not a good writer - because she clearly works for so many others and I'm not denying that. I'm merely saying she doesn't work for me anymore. Her brand of cheesy actions and responses, coupled with word repetition solely for word count, I need to call it quits. I'm sad because the next story was set up wonderfully throughout these last two books, but I don't think I can honestly read that book and not get frustrated.

Every once in a while, every few pages or so, she had these little gems sprinkled in some scenes between the chaos and the ridiculousness that filled the pages. I sought those gems out each and every time because I was hoping it was a passing phase and she was going to break out in her easy flow prose and allow me to fall into the story. There was more eye rolling adventures of the idiot kind than anything else, and it was getting more frustrating by the page.

I will say this much. She created a great confident character in Casey. He was protective and caring, but he didn't want to give in to this feeling he was feeling. What I didn't understand was the very thing that made him SO RICH was the ONE THING he couldn't stop. It seriously made no sense to me. At every corner. Olivia, however, was annoying. Elvis-lip annoying. No one ever loved her. No one ever did something so nice for her. No one ever made her feel so special. Everything is a new experience for her, but it came across as overplayed and overwritten, but most definitely underwhelming. She was portrayed as vapid and flat, not endearing and sweet. I'm still shaking my head at her (re)actions and personality. I get it, we get it, you had a terrible childhood and a horrible mother. I had zero sympathy for her - maybe it was the way it was written, or maybe it was her and how she conducted herself. I'm not sure, but it didn't read well.

So yes, as you can see, I didn't handle these last two books well. I’m so disheartened at how ridiculous this was. I generally like her flow, I like her word usage, even though sometimes the cheesy comes through extra hard. This one was ludicrous the amount of times I asked myself "what?" while reading, or rolled my eyes, or wanted to quit the book entirely. It was angering because I was promised angst - and all I got was cheesy unnecessary drama. There was exactly ZERO amounts of angst in this series. I honestly believe that added to my frustration because being promised that and it not being delivered really bothered me. I wasn't signing up for a cheesy, drama-laden sweet read. There is a HUGE difference between angst and stupid drama. This didn't have any angst.

Unfortunately, I now realize I am done with this series. Between this second book and the first one I read (one after the other), I knew I just needed to walk away and just count my losses as one massive thumbs down. I am tired of looking forward to a promised angst and honest storytelling only to be confronted with unnecessary drama and eye-roll worthy moments. This was just the icing on the cake - ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. Better than the first, but not anything I can continue on with, unfortunately.

But don't let my opinion stop you....

"You're beautiful." His voice goes even lower, and I look down. I've been told I'm beautiful my whole life from as far back as I can remember, but the way he said it - the softness to his words and the way he looked straight into my eyes - is something I've never had.

Well my idiocy is no secret. I picked up this book thinking it was Beau and Savannah's book and I was so excited for their story, I was actually a little disappointed to realise that this one was Olivia and Casey's. Not that I wasn't looking forward to this one, just that I had hyped myself up for the secrets, lies and betrayals I'm expecting from the next one.

Once I sucked it up and read a few pages of this one I was all good. Casey was a bit of a sweetheart with a surprise double life that I wasn't expecting. And while it was a little much for me, realistically, it did make good reading and kept me well entertained. I had expected him to be a little more over the top, assertive, alpha from the small snippets we got of him in Southern Chance. So I was a little disappointed that he wasn't. Instead he was super sweet and supportive, which I guess is alright.

Olivia was more than I had anticipated as well. I was surprised by her previous life and it did help me to understand why Casey was so convinced she wouldn't want to settle down and live life on a ranch. That said, duh Casey it's not like you can't, I don't know, talk about these things. Idiot. Especially considering the smoking hot chemistry all throughout the book.

Luckily the drama surrounding Olivia's hiding out in the country was resolved. And it was all very entertaining and enjoyable. And once Olivia and Casey pulled their heads out and used their big people words they all lived happily ever after. Except for Beau and Savannah who I am even more desperate to read after that little teaser at the end.

Natasha Madison threw me for a loop with Southern Comfort and I'm not mad about it. This is book two in her Southern Series and reads as a standalone. Casey is Kallie's brother from Southern Chance, and Olivia is her roommate! Best friends brother and all that. GIMME!

If you've read Souther Chance you know that Olivia and Casey had an instant connection. We didn't know quite how close they'd gotten in that story and wow was I ready for it!

"For the first time in my whole life, my heart beats for another person. It beats with hers."

Olivia had gotten herself in a lot of trouble (unbeknownst to her) and she's being followed by thugs looking for something she doesn't know is buried in her belongings. Casey's instant connection with Olivia brings her to stay at his home on the Barnes homestead. He feels the great need to be near her and protect her at any cost.

"I didn't know my biggest nightmare would be my fairy-tale ending."

Southern Comfort was super unexpected. From what I've read of Natasha's books in the past, this one was different. An angsty slow burn (was not expecting that AT ALL) for the ages! I devoured this one and I know you'll enjoy it as well!

Casey Barnes never thought he would find his other half but when Olivia, Kallies BF crashes his house and his heart he knows she belongs to him. But Casey decides to ignore it because he feels he has nothing to offer Olivia- the city girl. Olivia's past caught up with her and though bringing it to Casey's Homefront, she was never alone because her cowboy was there to take care of her.

Yes there was drama and mystery but the intense chemistry between Casey & Olivia was unbelievably HOT and it was what kept me looking towards it. Casey had Olivia's back and his protectiveness was so darn sexy and can we that every time he calls her "Darlin" was so sexy! Can't wait for the next book in the Southern Series. Kara~ 4.5 Stars

Southern Romance | Romantic Suspense

Southern Comfort is the second interconnected standalone in the Southern series. If you’ve read the first book (Southern Chance) then you’ll remember the small cliffhanger that leads into Casey and Olivia’s story which is this one. The roller coaster of emotions I felt from that cliffhanger was NOTHING compared to the drama in this one and I ate it up. Natasha can write some funny books, but also has a knack for a sweeter read. What I didn’t realize until now is that she can ALSO write suspenseful books too. This one had me hanging by the edge of my seat. I was rooting for Oliva and Casey despite all the problems that both stood in their way and got them together. I was anxiously waiting to see WHY Olivia was a target and WHO was coming after her. Casey was a rock by her side and even though he didn’t want anything serious it was breathtaking to watch him change his mind. Once again, Natasha packs the punches and delivers a beautiful read.

One of the things that I wished Southern Comfort had was a little more backstory from Casey. I felt like I only knew him on a surface level. Olivia was vividly depicted in Southern Comfort by Casey was a bit lacking in terms of character development. Now, this doesn’t mean I didn’t love him because I did; he’s fiercely protective and totally alpha, but I wanted to know him on a deeper level.

Other than this, Southern Comfort is another solid read in the series and I am so excited to see where Natasha takes the series next! This one sets us up for the next book and I am anxiously awaiting it to hit my kindle!

Olivia and Casey were first introduced in Southern Chance and it was obvious that they had a huge amount of attraction towards each other. Olivia was not used to the southern cowboy charm that Casey seemed to ooze and she was also a bit wary of it. I mean, do men like him really exist or is this just an act?

Olivia’s life has been upended by her cheating ex and his dodgy, illegal dealings. Her bestie Kallie has moved them both home to her family farm where she can lay low for a while until hopefully everything blows over. Right from the first time they met, Casey (Kalllie’s brother) has been forward in his flirtations towards her. Half the time she can’t tell if it’s harmless or there is something real going on there.

Casey’s protective instinct goes on high alert when he meets Olivia and learns the reason why she is hiding out on the farm. He insists that she stays with him, where he can keep an eye on her and at the same time keep the rest of his family safe in their home by removing the danger away from them. Caset truly is a country boy at heart but there is so much more to him than his life on the farm.

Olivia has never felt so safe and protected but despite how good everything is with Casey, she knows this is only temporary. She has a life and career to get back to once this is all over. However, when things take a nasty turn she begins to question how she truly feels about leaving Casey. As the line blurs between them she finds herself thinking about what it would be like to stay and be his.

Casey is pretty much beside himself when it comes to Olivia, he knows he is developing feelings for her but he is also acutely aware of how much danger she is in. He won’t rest until she is safe again, even if it means watching her walk away…. Who is he kidding? He will prove to her that she can find all the southern comfort and love she needs in his arms. This cowboy has finally found his cowgirl and he has no plans to let her go.

Casey is the perfect Southern gentleman!! He sounded completely yummy in the last book and that certainly carried over to this one.

I love Olivia’s spunk and even though she had in the past been a pretty famous model, she was humble and a bit insecure. It made her really likable!

When the first book in the series ended rather suddenly on a bit of a cliffhanger (although both books can be read as standalones), I was really excited to read Casey & Olivia’s story.

This book is really suspenseful which keeps you on the edge of your seat almost the entire book. It’s also a bit of a slow burn even though it seems by their chemistry that they wouldn’t be able to hold off.

BLESS MY HEART! If Casey's swoony southern charm doesn't sweep you away, the suspense surrounding Olivia is sure to knock you off your feet. Either way, I was an instant goner for this story!

About Southern Comfort:

Southern Comfort is the second book in Natasha Madison's Southern Series. This novel is told in both Casey and Olivia's point of view.

Olivia is on the run from her past, but as we all know, eventually your past has a way of finding you and biting you in the ass. Now Olivia has some seriously dangerous people after her, all thanks to her ex fiancee and his money laundering skills.

All Casey wanted to do with his life was run the ranch, but when he was younger he found that wasn't going to be a good enough life for him. After uncovering a hidden talent and finding out he's pretty good with a computer and has some serious hacking skills, Casey found himself living a double life. He's now not only the rancher everybody knows, but he also owns his own security business.. and that's a side of him that nobody will ever know. Or so he thought.

Now it's a mission of life or death. He has to find who's after Olivia or risk losing his heart for the second time in his life. The stakes are high and Casey and Olivia are all in.

My Thoughts:

When I first started reading The Southern Series by Natasha Madison, I was most intrigued by Casey and Olivia's story line. While reading Southern Chance (book 1) I found myself wanting to get to their story as soon as possible. I had to know if Casey would put his heart on the line and I had to know if these two would have their epic happily ever after!

My adrenaline was flowing! I feared for Olivia and fought right alongside Casey while he was trying to protect the girl he loves while trying to also save her from the person who wanted her dead! It was definitely a sit on the edge of your seat type read.

I loved the "city girl falls for a country boy' trope!

The romance between Casey and Olivia was just as epic as I was hoping it would be. Olivia grew up with perfection as the main focus of her life, thanks to her mother. I loved the fact that she was thrust into a true down home southern family. She experienced first had the way a family should be and should act with one another. And that is what I loved most about this novel. I loved the strong family sense. I loved the fact that Casey's mom and dad opened their arms and their home to Olivia. And I loved watching Olivia adjust to the strong family vibe that she was missing out on with her own family all along. My heart glowed during the moments with Olivia and the Barnes family.

Now onto Casey. I loved the fact that this country boy was living a double life. He was way more than just a rancher and a farm boy. This man is a serious genius! But that's a side he keeps hidden from everyone else. This man was swoony as hell and sexy as sin. I loved his vibes throughout this whole novel. I especially loved how he was with Olivia right from the first meeting.

Olivia and Casey could not be more opposite on one side of the spectrum. But if you cross over to the other side of that same spectrum, you'll realize these two couldn't be more similar if they tried. They both had past situations disrupt their outlook on life. This fact alone caused their chemistry and bond to be so much more than it initially was. And in the long run, caused me to fall for their characters so much more than I initially thought I could.

Overall, I loved Southern Comfort! I loved the romance, I loved the suspense, and I especially loved the strong sense of family. I'm a sucker for novels that incorporate tight knit family vibes!

Another story that pulled way more emotion out of me than I expected and I LOVE IT! I would say you can read this book as a standalone, but be warned, there is a lot of interconnection with the characters and the story-line so you might just want to start at the beginning. Do with that information as you will …

Even with all the dramatic angst built into the storyline, it was the chemistry between Casey and Olivia that really glued me to this story. I could not get enough of it! Their journey is fast-paced but burns slow. It made for a really captivating and passionate read! Casey had all kinds of depth to him and Olivia was the perfect match! I love when a story is built with two strong multi-layered, realistic and relatable characters. Honestly, I didn’t even care about the conflict outside of Casey and Olivia. That’s how invested I was in them! I can’t wait to read what’s in store for Savannah and Beau!

Ok, again I am wondering what happened to my “sweet” Natasha. Because let me tell you . . .

Southern Comfort is the second book in the Southern Series by Natasha Madison and if you think Book 1, Southern Chance is AMAZING just wait until you get your hands on Book 2, Southern Comfort! My heart is still racing and still wanting more. There just never seems to be enough of her words.

There were so many questions left unresolved in Southern Chance. The who, what, where, why and when of all the drama. And those answers come in Southern Comfort, but the road to the resolutions do not come easy.

Olivia (Kallie’s best friend) has dealt with some major issues. She’s caught up in something and has so idea how deep it flows, why she is caught up and what is wanted from her. Casey (Kallie’s brother) is determined to protect her by any means necessary, but trust me he is holding on to a few secrets himself. Things are not always what they seem and reasons are not always what we think. Olivia and Casey have a long row to hoe (a southern colloquialism) before they find themselves on solid ground.

Natasha has really blown me away with the suspense, the emotional turmoil and the southern drawl she has given this story. The way she has allowed the hero and heroine to grown on their own and find their own way.

What an incredible story of finding your chance in the midst of the South. There are still unanswered questions that have me on the edge of my seat awaiting Book 3, Southern Storm!

I really enjoyed this second book in the series. There was so much mystery but hints about these two characters that I was so ready for. Casey, wow there was so much more to him than what we thought. He was dominant and sexy but caring and romantic. Olivia was a good mixture of vulnerability at times but strength when needed. She was quite the woman you could look up to.

This story was riveting with mystery but also steam and romance.

Southern Comfort is book 2 in the Southern Series by Natasha Madison and follows Olivia & Casey who we met in book 1 Southern Chance. Even though this is a series of interconnected standalones I really think to get the full story behind each character and couple you should read these books in order.

At the end of book 1 we got a soft cliffhanger that leads us straight into book 2. I already knew I like Olivia & Casey together and was super excited for their book & I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a quick, easy and fun read full of passion, heat and packed with drama and some added suspense. It was funny one minute & emotional the next.

Casey isn't just a cowboy he is so much more than meets the eye and I loved him. He was caring, protective, smart, funny, sexy AF and so very Alpha, sometimes a little too alpha that it made me laugh.

Olivia is trying to get away from her past and trying to get her life back to normal whatever that may be. She was kind, funny, sassy, sweet and guarded. I felt bad for her with everything she was dealing with and everything she had gone through growing up but I also found it harder to connect with her. I felt like she always had one foot out the door ready to leave. I understand where she was coming from and why she was this way but I just found her character frustrated me a lot of the times.

I really enjoy this book but I liked book 1 better, personal preferences. This book again ends on a soft cliffhanger that leads us into book 3 and I can't wait. This series is a must for lovers of Small Town Romances

Southern Comfort is book 2 in the Southern Series. Although it can be read as a standalone, why would you want to. Natasha Madison's stories grab the reader, and makes you not want to stop until you're on the last page and then beg for more.
Southern Comfort tells the story of Casey, the cowboy, former horse rider turned techy. He is taken by Olivia from the start, but knows she is only here with his sister temporarily.
Olivia is hiding from her past, and smitten with Casey, who is the complete opposite from her and her life.
They have this fun chemistry between them. I was rooting for them through the whole book. opposites attract as the saying goes. I loved their energy and comfort with each other. Casey was her safety and savior.
There were twists and turns in the story to keep you glued to the story. Southern Comfort also lets you know the answers to the questions in Southern Chance that you were burning to know.
I cannot wait for Book 3 and to see the next story in this series. Southern Series is filled with drama, angst and lots of emotion. This is a must read series!

The second book in Madison’s Southern series, this is a surprisingly emotional, beautifully romantic love story with great chemistry and lots of swoon. I loved it!

Casey and Olivia’s story started in the first book of the series, Southern Chance. They met when Olivia found herself in trouble due to her shady ex-fiance, and her best friend, Kallie (heroine of the first book) brought her to her small home town to hide out. Casey is Kallie’s older brother, and from the moment he laid eyes on Olivia, he was smitten. Their relationship in the first book was all protectiveness and flirting, with a few Casey-led kisses, and then he promptly moved her into his house on the family’s farm to keep her safe. Love it! Olivia’s wit and smartassery was a great match for Casey’s alpha cowboy, and I was expecting this book to be a sexy comedy. But instead, we get up close and personal with these two characters during a really intense time, and we get an emotional, suspenseful, heartfelt story with a slow burning romance that kept me on the edge of my seat.

The threat that Olivia is facing is very real, and that becomes apparent from the very first chapter. I was sucked right in to the excitement as it all unfolds, and we get to see a whole different side to cowboy Casey as he goes all alpha protector over the woman he has come to care deeply about.

There’s a very obvious attraction between Olivia and Casey, but with all that Olivia is dealing with, they’re not in a position to go diving into exploring all that they are feeling. So instead we get this slow-developing emotional connection that is beautiful to watch. The sexual tension is definitely there, but it’s alongside something so much more that is real and organic, and it unfolds beautifully.

In the midst of all of the intensity, it’s all very emotional, but there are moments of sweetness, lightness and fun, with great flirting and banter between Casey and Olivia, and of course there’s sizzling sexy times.

“I want to save the horse and ride the cowboy.”

Olivia is a great heroine. Brave and bold, she is in an unbelievably intense situation and understandably has moments where she falls apart, but she allows Casey to be there for her, which I really liked. She goes through a lot in this book, and she has some moments where she truly shines, and I loved watching her journey as she deals with it all.

And Casey absolutely stole my heart! For a tough guy, he is gorgeously caring and sweet with Olivia, and his possessiveness is highly entertaining! There’s so much more to him than we initially thought, and I loved the surprising reveals as we get to know him, and God, he’s so beautifully swoony! Every time he calls Olivia “Darlin’”, I swear my heart skipped a beat.

I don’t even know when it happened. I don’t even know how it happened, but just like that, I fell in love with her. Not just any love, the love that everyone tells you about. The all-consuming, you’re never going to love another one like this kind of love.

There’s a mystery element to the story as we don’t know who is after Olivia or why, and that adds a great sense of suspense to the story, as does the way that Casey deals with it all. We learn more as the story progresses, and I was captivated as it all unfolded.

This is a great read that works well as a standalone, but also fits into the series with quite a bit of character crossover. I loved seeing Kallie and Jacob from the first book, and there’s a bit more build up to the next book, Southern Storm. Just beware spoilers for the series if you’re going into this one first.

Another winner from Natasha Madison, I loved this one so much!

4.5 stars.

I was expecting a cowboy romance but I got so much more in Southern Comfort. Casey and Olivia's story is packed with mystery and I wasn't expecting it. That was definitely my favorite part of this book: the mysterious plot.
Olivia is in a lot of trouble and because of that she's temporarily living in Casey's house, her best friend's brother. Casey is trying to protect her from the drama her ex fiancé dragged her into, when suddenly there's not only drama... Olivia is in real danger.
I was impressed by the fast pace and the suspense and that definitely won me over. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the relationship between Casey and Olivia. There was something missing in their relationship. Don't get me wrong, the steamy scenes were amazing and I was rooting for them. I just felt that with everything going on in the story, we didn't quite get to see the emotional connection between them.
I loved Casey's family, how Olivia was figuring out Casey's many layers, the small town setting, their banter and the secondary characters. Southern Comfort is a fast paced, mystery packed with twists and turns, angsty slow burn romance that I enjoyed. I'm curious about what's going to happen next in Savannah and Beau's book.

Quick Summary: A secret security protector romance

My Review: Southern Comfort by Natasha Madison is book installment two in The Southern series. It features the story of Olivia and Casey.

About the Book: Olivia had been used and manipulated her entire life. She was never valued for herself and she never knew what it felt like to belong to a loving family. When she and her best friend were threatened, they decided to go to Kallie's home. While there, she was welcomed and loved up on by everyone of Kallie's family members... especially Casey. From jump, he stepped in as her personal security detail. What will happen when they both decide to let down their guard and let their hearts lead them?

My Final Say: This was heavy. I loved it!

Natasha knocked it out of the park with book #2 in her brand new Southern series.

As we know at the end of book #1 well....if you haven't read Kallie and Jacob's book I don't want to spoil it because this is definitely a series you're going to want to read in order.
Casey and Olivia's story starts right where the other ends. I was team Jacob, but after reading Southern comfort I'm totally team Casey.
I loved this book, it had a just the right amount of suspense, angst, and a helluva lot of heat. I wanted to slap the both of the upside the head a few times just because they let their fears and hang ups get in the way of a relationship that they both want.

You know me I don't give any of the plot away because you just have to experience it for yourself. Now I just need Savannah and Beau's book and I have a feeling it's going to be an angst fest.

MUST READ!!!

Southern Comfort is everything I love about Natasha Madison’s writing. Sweet, suspenseful, wonderful characters with angst and a beautiful emotional connection. Olivia is running away from her previous life. She has come to town to escape the trouble her ex husband has gotten her into but unfortunately for her it follows her to her new life. Casey is the epitome of a southern charmer. He is fiercely protective over Olivia and will do anything to keep her from harms way. He is hiding some of his own secrets and there is so much to uncover between the two them. I devoured this story in one sitting. I was so invested in these characters from beginning to end. At some points I felt the story focused more on the drama in their lives than the romance itself but overall I loved it and am dying to read Beau and Savannah’s story next in Southern Storm. Natasha Madison has written an incredible series and each book gets better and better.

I don’t know about this one. I wanted to like it more than I did. It felt a bit like there wasn’t enough story left for Casey and Olivia after the first book.

I’ll probably still read the third one though.

5 Star review of Southern Comfort (Southern Series #2) by Natasha Madison

The second book in this inter connected series and was just as enjoyable as the first book.
I love small town romance, it has become one of my favourite genres to read over the last couple of years. This is Olivia (Kallie’s best friend) and Kallie’s brother Casey’s love story and oh what a fabulous story Southern Comfort is.

Southern Chance ended will unanswered questions and I was anxious to see if these would be resolved in Southern Comfort.

Casey is determined to do what ever he can to protect Olivia. He knows that he should safeguard his heart but is powerless to stop himself from falling for her.

There is drama, suspense, angst, humour and romance and this is so well written that I was fully captivated from the first to the last chapter as Ms.Madison wove her story.

The road to happiness will not be easy for Olivia and Casey, but if they survive the journey, it will be well worth it.

I am excited to see what Ms. Madison had in store for us in book three, Southern Storm.

Olivia never had family sure she had a mom but she cared more about appearances then her daughter. So being on the ranch and seeing Kallie's family, her parents....her hot brother/cowboy Casey, has her thrown for loop.

While she nows when it is save she must leave and while Casey knows this too the two slowly go from friends to more to much much more and when her troubles find her it brings out the true Casey, the one he hides from most people. He will do anything and everything to keep her safe, even reveal his secrets.

I loved these two and their connection. This is a really enjoyable series. I love Natasha Madison's writing style, character building, her worlds.

The only thing I kept thinking while reading this, is that the heroine should definitely see a doctor at some point as there might be something wrong with her tear ducts....she forever had her eyes brimming with tears, or was sobbing or my fave...the lone tear running down her cheek....girlfriend you need to get this checked out asap...😢😭🤷‍♀️ otherwise a ok read!!
