The following outlines Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensing information. For specific information on filing an application, please review the checklist below. 

Checklist for APRN license

  • Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP)
  • Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)

For a current list of APRN National Certifying Bodies
  • Occurs every other year.  If you are an "odd" licensee, your license must be renewed by December 31st of odd numbered years, if you are an "even" licensee, your license must be renewed by December 31st of even numbered years. Renewal applications post marked or submitted online after this date are subject to additional fees.
  • $50.00 per APRN certification type.
  • $75.00 per additional APRN certification; only for adding a certification to an existing Montana APRN license.  Complete this Application and mail in with required information.
