Lies, lies, lies...

The lies from Harvard Academy's Elite had fallen upon deaf ears. With the truth revealed, Sam was the only person I could turn to and trust.
But a girl once so broken, was only bent. As I returned, stronger than before. The de Lacharriere's could play their silly little games and spew their lies.
One thing remained true, I was getting free of my father's clutches. Even if that meant having to side with the enemy.
The four guys who broke my heart with little white lies, would have to heal me with their ugly dark truths.

This was ridiculous. The protagonist annoyed the crap out of me - she’s weak, dumb, a cry baby and accepts/believes everything she’s told without questioning anything. She never fought back, she only cried and cried. And don’t get me started on the , that was ridiculous.

I’m sad, this could have been a really great book, but it needed a MUCH stronger protagonist to work. Bully romances are only fun if the girl fights back and is strong, at least in my opinion...

At that thought, as the utter desperation that’s been building inside me explodes, I let go and shoot forward. I’ve never been suicidal in my life. I’ve never had even the slightest thought of taking my own existence for someone else, but I can’t take this heartache or the future that’s yet to come any longer. The de Lacharrieres’s stone balcony is icy and slick as I let myself go finally and make a run for it.
I can leap over and off the short railing surrounding the overlook

No. Fuck no,” he repeats passionately. “You don’t get to do that. You don’t get to give up. Fuck that!” his gravelly voice commands and my body gives in. The quakes overtake my body as the adrenaline leaves me, and then I’m left trembling in his hands. “Fuck!” he curses again, and then Brent’s mouth is on mine.
His kiss is brutal, punishing, as he pours his anger into me and doesn’t let up. All this time, he’s hinted at kissing me and yet it still hadn’t transpired. I’ve wanted it to every single day since the first time it nearly happened. It never did, no matter how much I silently pleaded for it, and he chooses now, of all times, just as I’m ready to give up on absolutely everything. He picks this moment to kiss me, and it’s like I’ve never been kissed before in my entire life.
He doesn’t claim my lips for his own; he fucking owns me in my entirety.

“I hate you,” I whisper with a pitiful whimper. My lip quivers, now that he’s not punishing me with his vicious kiss.
“I know you do, sweetie, and that’s just fine. If you despise me, then at least you’re not jumping off fucking balconies. Never let me catch you trying to pull that shit again. I mean it, Kres. NEVER AGAIN!”
“Get away from me.”
“Not a chance. We need to talk… Not just you and me, but my brothers as well.”
“Fuck your brothers! There is no you and me. There is no them and me, and there never will be. Not with any of you. Just let me go. Why should you care if I jump? It’s not like it would stop your father from destroying my family.”
“It wasn’t a request, Kresley. We’ll be discussing this…now! No more waiting around.”

If these four want me living with them, they better be prepared, because I will be so ugly that they can’t stand to look at me. They like that I’m not a typical rich bitch, gold digger? Well, get your pocketbooks out, because I’m going to hit them where it hurts—in the bank.

THESE. BOYS. ARE. MINE!! I licked them, I claimed them, there mine, I will fight over them... just test me!! LOL.

Now seriously… I will let you read about them because I'm cool like that, but don't be getting any ideas, hands off there taken!!

If book one, Little White Lies was angst and rough, grit and dark then this book is passion and heat, sweetness and light.

I really loved this book because it was both a redemption story and a killer sweet romance. The way the boys opened up, how we (Kres and I) learned new things about each, and how we fell in love… yeah this was fantastic.

I won't tell you, you will have to read to find out, but I LOVED the way this book felt like more then just part two in a duet. It felt like it's own story, deeper and more intimate yet with the same characters. All your answers from book one are answered and more. I wouldn't mind love an update novella in the future just to catch up with them in a few years (wink, wink).

The HEA through… dreams people, that is what dreams are made of.
Enjoy my boys (and Kres) and fall in love like I did. I had the extreme pleasure of reading this ARC and I am leaving an my honest review.

Reverse Harem is my crack at the moment, and while none of the stories have been a five star read, it is one of those genres that I can easily read during this horrible book funk I'm currently in.

This duet does need an edit, if homophones are an issue for you, this is not the duet for you, but if you can get passed that then carry on for the ride.

I didn't see the twist coming, I just thought that these quads (yes, quads) were just so privileged and entitled that they thought they could get everything they wanted, even if the participant wasn't a willing one. However, the heroine didn't stand a chance with these quads, each one so different and yet no less alluring.

I'm glad they saw the light and glad that this was the girl that brought them to their knees.

I enjoyed this one, and glad that karma rained down on the right person.

The ending carries on with same "ok" feeling.
I'm really scrabbling for something to write!!!
The quad are def something I'd love to suddenly turn up in my life!!😉😂

Would have liked to see the father taken down. I know we were told he was going to be but better to witness!
Maybe see Kres and Sam graduate?

Right length of story. It didn't drag on of feel too short. That can be a good thing or a slight thing - I know there's been times I've read books and desperately wanted to read more about certain characters! But this duet is just about right.

Amazing story line

I really enjoyed the storyline and characters. Yet, it felt more like a narrative than a book of characters telling a story... it felt rushed and much was left out. I truly like how the author wanted to put each moment together but so much that would have made this perfect book was skipped. I will keep my eye out for more by this author and hope ... but i enjoyed and happy i purchased.

This was a ridiculous book and so cringe I died so many times I lost count😂
I so did not like the main girl or the way the author portrayed her... I like a strong girl and she was far from it, at least not in my eyes! Most of the times things didn’t make sense cause I was like “ what the heck am I reading”? And so cringe I wanted to slap them all. And what the f, every night with different brother🧐 and the same sappy shit, “do you love me? OMG I love you tooo😂” 🤮

Great series

I really enjoyed this series. After the cliffhanger in book 1, this book was bound to give the guys redemption. They had a lot to make up for and while I had hoped there would be a different type of groveling it was a great plot. I really could have read more about these characters, so I'm sad to say goodbye.

Nope, she's one of the most fickle, vacillating doormats of any female lead I've read

Kresley couldn't hold on to an ideal if it were glued to her forehead, so there's no way she can stick to her ideals make the guys actually work to do something to redeem themselves, and stop being a doormat. I just hate, and I do mean detest, that one sentence she's determined that she hates them and she'll never have anything to do with them, and the very next paragraph she sexing it up and cannot get enough of them. Shallow much?

As for writing style I get some authors don't want to include extraneous details describing every little piece of clothing and aspects of a room, and how quickly they walked or direction they've moved, I get it, but this goes the opposite direction too far. It gives NO details to the degree that plot points are just dropped in out of the blue with no development like the author realized there was a gaping hole in the plot and dropped some odd fact in to account for it, but with no prior support or story development-- stuff just dropped it out of the blue and never mentioned before. For example trying to make the male leads more sympathetic and twist the story from being about Kresley's adversarial relationship with the male leads to instead being with her father, the author tries to explain how they knew she was being abused by dropping in that spy cameras had been in the house at some point prior to the engagement party. Doesn't explain how, or when, and no development about that level of spying has been supported or developed in this story, it's just thrown in as a last minute aside to try and explain the sudden and unexplained shift in the plot -- it doesn't work.

Trouble was there's still so many holes in the plot because there were so few details, no real plot development, and very limited character development. Readers aren't shown what the plot is, it doesn't unfold, radom stuff just drops out of nowhere. And there's still quite a few typographical and other errors, but it is the diction and plot errors that really drive me nuts. Like when the guys have the big party and car race, Axel is described as not wearing his glasses instead switching to his contacts, but later in the book his glasses got broken in the fight and he had to get new ones. The author just can't keep the details that ARE included straight, it's maddening.

YA reverse harem

Second in series book with the last book Kresley found out about all the lies that the guys had told she messed up and told her father who needed the crap kicked out of him for what he did next. So I didn't hate the idea that the guys wanted to still go after him but even by the end of this book you don't really know if they've gotten him. There are of course more half truths told and Kresley goes from being a hotness of drama to a complete wreck making a bad decision in her heart break but I won't go into that. She eventually gets over what the guys did there is finally the intimate moment between her guys all except one I'm not sure why because this is reverse harem and only 3 guys were with her but there are 4 brothers who she belongs too so that was confusing. Also in regards to the sex scenes why did two brothers have sex without protection and she was on the pill but the third used condoms it seemed weird and out of place pluse I'm still trying to figure out why the Rebel bad boy of the group Cole never had sex with Kresley. But the biggest thing I didn't care for in this book was the ending I was good up till there it felt half finished like there should be another book were there in College together at least have the wedding but it just sorta had a happy for now kinda of ending it seemed rushed.

Just as bad as the first novella, only finished it out of sheer will and determination to not have a dnf in the first month of my 2024 reading challenge. These books are not worth your time and money.

Poorly written, with characters that are supposed to be charming and garner your empathy but end up coming across as spoiled, selfish, self centered and unintelligent.

The plot doesn't even follow its own facts.

On page 27, "We know what your father did to you."

Then on page 102, "Wait a second, by safety, do you mean from the girls that were giving me problems before, or is there a threat I don't know about." "No, beba, from your father hurting you again." ... Mortification hits me like a truck. They know? .... I ask brokenly, "How much do you know?" He groans, rubbing his eyes with the heels of his hands. "Probably most of it."

This is not a rh with shared smut scenes or much group dynamics at all. Mildly spicy at best. Terrible writing.

The series was fine. It had cute and steamy moments. If you're looking for a light RH book with cute boys then this series could be for you.

The story had potential...but it was just too short. But despite it being too short (for me), I actually had to skip a lot. I feel like the author missed a couple of opportunities to develop the story.
And it kind of bothered me that she had a brother that was pretty much absent the entire series. In the first book the fmc said that her brother drives a Maserati...but later she just refers to him as her "little brother". Doesn't she have a relationship with her brother, at all?

I actually finished the series because of the quad. They we're all interesting. But it's quite the opposite with the fmc, to be frank.

3.5!

So the ending, then really live up to the hype for me, especially with how cookie-cutter everything seem to be.

We still didn’t get to see the actual resolution with her fathers business and see how we played out. Also finally get to see his face once everything went down.

There also was in a lot of drama with being in a reverse harem. I was expecting someone to find out about it and then make a huge trouble but everything seem to be like very discreet which is it realistic.

What is felt like I happy for now kind of ending and why that’s all good. It wasn’t like a four star or a five star.

This story was kind of ridiculous and cring af. But I’m a sucker for finishing a book even if it’s horrid.
The relationships were like love at first sight and super unrealistic. I hated that cole said shorty and beba. The characters just made me want to scream half the time. Like girl you are so weak and such a push over. Also not me waiting the whole book for a steamy cole scene for it to never happen. And she raw dogs tristen and Brent but uses condoms with axle??? Ugh I’m ranting but this series was not it. The great reviews are liesssss

Kres is such a weak heroine. While I could see needing the boys to help her take her father down, she allowed her bullies to get away from everything. There was no groveling or Kres even standing up for herself. Bullying trope only works when the heroine can take some of her power back and eventually puts the bullies in their place but that never happens here.

Honestly just no. The fmc was a huge weak ass cry baby who forgave all four mmc for using her and trying to bankrupt her family as long as they said I love you.
And as for that "suicide attempt" after loosing my nephew this year to suicide its been a difficult subject for me to read but for it to be written as a spur of the moment thing then completely glossed over pissed me off even more

I give this one 3.5 stars. Second book in the Harvard Academy Elite picks up right were book one ended. I don't feel like their story is over. There's still questions in my head that weren't answered. While I enjoyed the storyline and characters, I feel like there's more missing.

Loved everything thing about this except for the ending. I thought the Author could have fleshed it out a little bit more. I wanted to see Kres' dad pay and see what happened to her mom after.

Nonetheless, I think it was a book worth reading and thereby I'm giving it 5 stars.

This book was good, but the first one was better in my opinion. I felt that Kresley didn't give the Quads enough time to explain what was going on. Also the Quads just let her believe what she overheard them talking about, but took a while to tell her the truth.
Overall this was a good story.
