This has to be one of my favorite books by Esther! Ricca is badass, a ruthless guy who will grab your heart and toss it around until it consumes you. Chiara is the perfect partner for Ricca and is ruthless in her own way as well. I read this book in one sitting as I couldn't put it down. I just hope there's more to come in this series!

This is a beautifully written story about trust and understanding. Chiara is no stranger to the life that is mafia, she was born into it. But when she is forced to marry to protect a mob boss, they both learn new things. Its hard to write without giving away spoilers, but you are left drained at the end of the story - but in a good way. Your heart goes on this journey with them. You will not be disappointed.

This book WOW!! Not only is it a great Mafia book but it is also about learning to trust, heal and love someone uncontrollably. Ricca and Chiara aka Stellina (which I loved this endearment for her) were meant for each other even before they realized it especially under the circumstance that brought them together. My heart broke for what Chiara went through growing up and the way Esther writes I felt like i was going through the same pain as Chiara. I loved the way Ricca was there for her and knew how strong she was even though she was broken inside. The night of their wedding was amazing especially the way the bonded!! All I have to say is that Chiara is one tough and "scary" woman, you dont want to mess with!! They helped each other grow and learn to trust and love each other unconditional. I loved how Chiara renamed Ernesto, Armino, and Fausto as the ducklings!I was cracking up laughing every time she called them that and even Ricca started too as well. Once again Esther did an amazing job and her stories keep getting better and better!

Loved Ricca’s story, but loved Chiara more. Being a woman in a mafia family is the worst kind of luck.,and for her to have the upbringing she had, she thought she’d never find love or happiness. Sure Ricca is a mafia boss, but he has a keen respect for women and he instantly takes a liking to Chiara. Watching them build their lives was both exciting and funny. Seeing his connections to his friends (brothers really).,made all the killing pleasurable☺️

Great read. I enjoy Esther’s mafia world and the strong, fearless women she brings to her books.
