Kutztown selected to host the 2021 NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Softball Championship

KUTZTOWN, Pa. -- For the first time since 2013, the NCAA Division II Softball Championship tournament is coming to Kutztown University.

The NCAA has selected Kutztown and North Campus Field as the host site for the 2021 NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Championship, which will run from Wednesday, May 19 through Saturday, May 22.

Gone this year is the Super Regional round, which Kutztown hosted and won in 2013 on its way to a national runner-up finish. Instead, the Atlantic Regional will be a six-team tournament that produces the region's representative at the NCAA Division II National Championship.

The NCAA Division II Softball National Championship begins Thursday, May 27, and will be played at the Regional Athletic Complex in Denver, Colo. Metropolitan State University of Denver is the host institution.

On Sunday, May 16, the NCAA is scheduled to announce the field of 48 teams for this year's national tournament during its selection show on NCAA.com at 10 p.m.

Kutztown also won the Atlantic Region championship in 2012 when it hosted the Regional and Super Regional at North Campus Field. In total, the Golden Bears have produced a 37-37 national tournament record in 18 appearances dating back to 1994.

Additional information, including game dates, start times, tickets and live coverage will be determined closer to the event.
