Orientation, Transition and Retention Knowledge Community Excellence in Research Award

Each year, NASPA's Orientation, Transition, and Retention Knowledge Community (OTR) offers the following awards to support and recognize the exemplary work being done by our members in the areas of orientation, transition, and retention. This award recognizes excellent completed research in the field of Orientation, Transition, and Retention. In addition to the recognition, the awardee will be able to collaborate with the OTR Knowledge Community to disseminate the research findings more broadly through print publications, web-based publications, conference presentations, and/or webinars.

Eligibility: Any current NASPA member

Required Criteria: Research must have been completed during the preceding 12 months to the awarding.

The study abstract should be no longer than 200 words. 

Please provide a brief overview of the study, up to 500 words in length.

Describe the importance of this research and why it deserves to be recognized for a distinguished contribution to the field of orientation, transition, and retention in higher education. Please include the research design, findings, and implications for the OTR field (2,000 word limit).
