Fellows of the American Autonomic Society (FAAS)

Consider elevating your member status to Fellow of the American Autonomic Society. Fellowship is based on outstanding credentials, achievements, and contributions to the society. Election as a Fellow of the American Autonomic Society (FAAS) recognizes your clinical, scientific, and professional accomplishments and volunteer leadership and service. The right to include the initials FAAS among your credentials lets your colleagues and patients know that you have met the high standards required for Fellowship designation in the premier international organization of autonomic professionals. Fellowship is open to clinicians, scientists, and allied professionals with a major and productive interest in autonomic disorders and sciences. FAAS Submission for 2024 is due September 1, 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Be a member in good standing of the Society for 5 years as a Regular Member (or at least 7 years as an Allied Health Member).

  2. Devote a significant portion of their professional life to the study or treatment of autonomic disorders.

  3. Regular attendance at the American Autonomic Society Scientific Sessions

  4. History of Volunteer Activities for the American Autonomic Society

  5. Meet additional criteria for fellowship as described in the below document.

How to Prepare & Submit Your Fellowship Application

Prepare a letter to the Fellowship Subcommittee. Your letter should describe your activities in the Evaluation Categories and add any supplemental information you feel the committee should know about you. Try to keep your letter to 1-2 pages.

Provide your current CV

Identify supporting materials. These can be highlighted in the CV and may include journal articles, books, appointments to the AAS society, administrative positions, poster or platform presentations, or other similar published materials. If some materials are difficult to obtain by the Fellowship Committee, then reprints might be accepted.

Notify your references (who must be AAS Fellows or surrogates as outlined in the Eligibility section point 8) to submit recommendation letters directly to the Academy, to amber@americanautonomicsociety.org.

The application fee is $100, to be payable to the American Autonomic society by check or by credit card (a link will be provided after you have submitted your application).

Recent (in the last 10 years) or publications deemed by the Fellowship Subcommittee to be of great importance relevant to autonomic disorders, autonomic physiology, or related areas

Recent presentations in these areas at regional or national meetings

Grants in these areas

Participation on journal editorial boards, grant review committees, practice guideline committees

Awards for scholarly activities
