Publisher's summary
You’ve seen Kevin Hart rule the stand-up circuit. You’ve watched him take over Hollywood. You’ve even seen him slay the New York Times best seller list. Now he’s going to help you own your monsters.
Following his popular titles I Can’t Make This Up and The Decision, Kevin is back sharing the practical wisdom that he’s gained from a profound, life-changing event. Monsters and How to Tame Them is Kevin’s most recent guide on how to live your best life, wrapped in his signature honesty, hilarious voice, and adept storytelling. You’ve heard stories about vampires, zombies, and ghosts. Now it’s time to meet some of the monsters that haunt your mind. Kevin will introduce you to Control Monster, or the need to control everyone and everything around you that ultimately limits your chance to grow. Then there’s Comparison Monster. This one makes you compare yourself to others, causing irrational jealousy. You’ll also meet Approval Monster, that nagging feeling deep down inside you that just wants likes and approval from the entire world, which leads to endless emptiness.
If you’re afraid of these monsters and more lurking around every dark corner, let Kevin, the monster hunter, show you how to train those bad tendencies we all have in the recesses of our minds. But first, you’ll have to look and see who or what is hiding under your bed. Kevin’s got you. Now get them.

Story
In his early 20s, Curtis Jackson, known as 50 Cent, rose to the heights of fame and power in the cutthroat music business. A decade ago, the multi-platinum selling rap artist decided to pivot. His ability to adapt to change was demonstrated when he became the executive producer and star of Power, a high-octane, gripping crime drama centered around a drug kingpin's family. The series quickly became "appointment" television, leading to Jackson inking a four-year, $150 million contract with the Starz network - the most lucrative deal in premium cable history.

As the result of clear vision, big thinking, hard work, direct communication, resilient problem-solving, open-minded curiosity, and a commitment to giving back. All of it guided by the one lesson Arnold’s father hammered into him above all: be useful.

Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Bert Kreischer doesn't know how to say "no." If he did, he wouldn't have gotten himself mixed up with a group of Russian mobsters on a class trip to Moscow, earning him his nickname: "The Machine." He wouldn't have wrestled with a bear or swum with sharks on national television. He wouldn't have (possibly) smoked PCP with a star of Saturday Night Live. And he wouldn't have been named the Number One Partier in the Nation by Rolling Stone, inspired the movie National Lampoon's Van Wilder, or performed standup to sellout crowds across the country.

Breakfast of Champions (1973) provides frantic, scattershot satire and a collage of Vonnegut's obsessions. His recurring cast of characters and American landscape was perhaps the most controversial of his canon; it was felt by many at the time to be a disappointing successor to Slaughterhouse-Five, which had made Vonnegut's literary reputation.

“The Heron” is the nickname a big-city accountant has attached to himself in his new home near San Diego, where he’s using the alias to avoid a hit man who may be after him. It seems a former client believes that The Heron has skipped town with several million dollars not his own. Don Winslow’s ensuing, entertaining yarn is by turns twisty, dark, and comical as we observe the delicate dance between the pursuer and the pursued.

Welcome to the summer of 1985 in Philadelphia, when the city was rocked—in almost every sense of the word—by two unprecedented events: Mayor W. Wilson Goode’s May 13 decision to bomb the headquarters of MOVE, a controversial Philadelphia-based radical communal organization, and the July 13 Live Aid concert, where international rock royalty convened in Philly to raise money for victims of the Ethiopian famine. Separated by just two months and eight miles, these events would showcase both the best and the worst of the so-called City of Brotherly Love.

Entertaining, not useful
This doesn’t feel like the true ideas of kevin Hart, instead advice for what he thinks normal people deal with, not really himself, and its just to general, the ideas do and don’t apply to different situations, this book is trying to fit a shapeshifting block into a square hole, with perfect situations and things going specific ways, but this is as if a random team of people put this together then kevin gave it a once over to add jokes and a bit of detail, overall disappointing considering how good his life story book was.

Kevin Hart you did it again man!
I loved it. Very insightful, funny & life changing. I suggest everyone I know to take the time to check this out. Matter fact I demand it! Taking the time to take in the knowledge shows me how determined someone is tours their development & growth as a person. I’m always following up with Kevin Hart’s interviews & videos where I can pick his brain & steal a few pages of his book. I hope to meet the man one day. I hope this becomes a book so I can
Highlight the detrimental things that stood out to me the most. Much love Kevin Hart! Thank you for the time you took to put this together! I guess there were Monsters under our bed all along. Kevin pulled each one of them

Diluted Message Due to Severe Profanity 😔
I'm a big fan of Kevin Hart, so I purchased this book. I'm not sure why or how he came to the conclusion that someone/anyone would want to listen to endless profanity fly out his mouth. My goodness, huge opportunity missed to connect with a younger audience. I can even finish the 📖. Sorry Kev, thumbs down on this one. 👎🏽
