PLE Principals Updates
March 8, 2021
Dear PHamily,
We had a great week welcoming our students from the winter break and for the first time we had preschooler, kindergarten, first and second graders at the same time. Thank you to all our amazing PLE staff for creating a smooth transition and thank you to all our parents for completing the daily attestations. We want to remind you that the week of March 8 to March 12, we are operating with three days for in-person services (Monday-March 8, Tuesday-March 9 and Thursday-March 11). The following week, we will have four days (Monday, March 15, Tuesday-March 16, Thursday-March 18 and Friday-March 19).
Our partners in education, Lighthouse is treating our amazing PLE staff with a lunch today. This week we are celebrating our amazing classified staff. Thank you Lighthouse for the delicious lunch.
Warmly,
Melisa Macias, PLE Principal

BSF Spring For Schools - SAVE THE DATE!
The Bellevue Schools Foundation Annual Spring for Schools luncheon is going virtual!
Our event is virtual; The need for your support is real. We are busy planning a wonderful virtual event of giving and camaraderie for our donors and community. Our event will be held on April 30th, 2021. More details to follow.
Here is what you make possible through your generosity to Bellevue Schools Foundation:
- Cutting-edge preK-12 computer science education & equity initiative which challenges students to think critically, have growth mindsets and practice skills that will allow them to thrive and succeed in distance learning and any career they choose
- Helps grow music and arts programs
- Stocks school libraries with digital and classroom books in multiple languages to serve our global population
- Nurtures our students’ social and emotional development through our mental health initiative which identifies students struggling with mental health issues and gets them the support they need.
Thank you for all that you do to support the Foundation’s mission of serving your students!
PTA Meeting
Join us on Thursday, March 11 from 7-8 pm on Teams for a PTA Meeting! This is also a great chance for parents to get together virtually for some adult conversation on supporting and caring for our PLE community! Hope to see you there!

Kindergarten registration for the 2021-2022 school year
If you child has or will be turning 5 before August 31, 2021 they are eligible for kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year. Kindergarten registration for the 2021-2022 school year is now open and registrations are being accepted through the enrollment portal.
Please note that preschool registration does not carry over to Kindergarten and hence enrollment registration and residency must be completed for your child before starting Kindergarten later this fall. The sooner you register the better the district can analyze school needs for kindergarten.
Please follow the link to complete kindergarten registration for your child: https://bsd405.org/schools/registration/enroll-next-year/
Eat Out At Mod!
Free and Reduced-Price Lunch
Now is an Ideal Time to Sign up for Free and Reduced-Price Lunch (FRL). If you think you might be eligible for free and reduced-price lunch, but haven’t yet signed up, here is the application: https://bsd405.org/services/nutrition-services/free-reduced/
Why the urgency now? There will likely be some government funds made available to families that have FRL status. These funds will be passed on to families to cover the cost of meals they have had to purchase while school has been conducted remotely. In addition, students with FRL status will have their ASB card and other fees waived.
If you aren’t sure if you have signed up for FRL, please call BSD’s Nutrition Services office at 425-456-4507 to confirm.
Almuerzo gratis y a precio reducido
