PLE Principals Updates
March 1, 2021
Dear PHamily,
I hope you had a wonderful virtual week back from winter break! We are looking forward to welcoming back our preschoolers, kindergarteners, first and second graders for the first time all together in the same building! This week, we are celebrating our amazing support staff. We now have over 103 staff working in our school, and three quarters of them are support staff. It would be impossible for us to offer the quality of service to our community that we are so proud of without the dedication and commitment of such fantastic people. We really are incredibly fortunate, and it is only right that their contributions are celebrated. Please join me in thanking them for their daily contributions.
I am very excited to share that Governor Jay Inslee will be visiting our school on Tuesday, March 2nd. King County Executive Dow Constantine and Council President Claudia Balducci will attend with the Governor. We were selected because they want to recognize and celebrate the amazing work we are doing as a PLE community. We also are a school with an amazing preschool program, the largest in the district. They wanted to come and experience, for a short period of time, the magic our PLE staff create in our classrooms and/or virtually every day. Every visit we have had, we have received positive feedback about our staff and classrooms. Thank you parents for your partnership, we could not do any of this without you. We invited our amazing PTA president to join a round table discussion with the Governor to represent our amazing PLE community. The work each of you do for our students, community and staff members does not go unnoticed! We will follow all of our risk mitigation processes and ensure everyone who enters our building does what they need to.
Warmly,
Melisa Macias, PLE Principal

- Helps grow music and arts programs
- Stocks school libraries with digital and classroom books in multiple languages to serve our global population
