PLE Principals Updates
February 08, 2021
Dear PHamily,
Last week we celebrated our Counselor Alysia. She brings so much love and healing to our students. Our amazing PTA is partnering with us to celebrate our PLE staff. Every Wednesday we will raffle two names of educators and they will be recognized during the broadcast. They will also receive a small gift card. We are truly grateful for our partnership with PTA and all the love and support we have been shown this year. We also received a generous contribution of $14,000 from Lighthouse Church. These funds will support PTA, our family specialist, staff and students.
Today we were very excited to see faces and smiles in our hallways once again. We welcomed our first graders and we will be welcoming kindergarten later this week on February 11th.
It certainly has been a journey to be remembered for all of us and we could have not have done any of our work to serve students if it wasn't for each member of our PLE community.
Warmly,
Melisa Macias, PLE Principal
Masks
Face Coverings For Students Attending School In-Person
All students, staff, and families are expected to wear face coverings consistent with Washington Department of Health and Labor and Industries requirements.
- Face coverings should fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
- Face coverings should cover from the bridge of your nose to under your chin
- Face coverings can have multiple layers (2 or more) and should not have exhalation vents or valves
When your child is at school in-person, they may be provided with a new mask to wear if they do not have one. We have a supply of child-sized disposable and reusable masks on hand in case your child’s mask gets soiled or doesn’t cover their nose and mouth adequately.
In-Person Calendar
PLE Safety Review Team
3rd-5th Grades: We are bringing back K-1 and will see how our procedures and facilities hold up with all three grade levels in the building before we propose a timeline for the return of the older grade levels. The Safety Review Team will be charged with this planning and we will likely begin this work at the end of March after the K-2 return is stabilized.
