Oak Ridge Elementary School is a welcoming community of learners located in Lower Salford Township in the southern part of Souderton Area School District.  We are dedicated to providing a loving learning environment for our students that inspires, fosters independence, and enriches thinking so that they can successfully face the challenges of life.  Our school culture is a reflection of the caring community we serve.

Upcoming Events

I am very excited to share that Oak Ridge is about to get a Face Lift.  You may have noticed the bricks falling off the ‘front’ side of our building.  In the opening to this week’s News From The Nest I explain to the kids that when we return from break the construction will be under way (weather permitting).  We have begun planning for the impact that the construction will have on specific areas.  I will keep you updated as we go, but have included a few of the important changes below along with the rest of our updates and reminders...

The latest issue of the Home & School News in a Nutshell smore is ready to view.  There is important information about the Lip Sync and information about Afterschool Rec for Grades 1 and 2 - along with more items to review.  Take a look and bookmark it if you need to check back for updates, especially if you have a 5th grader participating in Lip Sync or the cover contest!  Hope to see you at our next meeting on Tuesday, February 6 at 7 PM in the Oak Ridge Library.

I am overwhelmed with pride following our Veterans Day assembly.  The students did such an amazing job singing, listening, and presenting.  They were truly on their best “Owl” behavior!  The Veterans were so thankful for the kind tribute, and many expressed how impressed they were with our students.  Overall, it was a great learning experience for our students.  Here are some additional updates and reminders...

We started our day with a Fun Friday Phire Drill.  We had our monthly fire drill and then once it was completed, we formed a baseball diamond on the playground and sang, ‘Take Me Out to the Ballgame’ in celebration of the Phillies big win last night.  The kids did a great job, so look for  on next week’s News From The Nest.  Here are a few additional updates and reminders...

Reminder that the Back-to-School Bash is postponed until next Friday, September 15th.  The times will be the same, 5:30-7:30.  Also, this years Bash is free of charge.  There will not be Pizza, but we will have free Philly Soft Pretzels, fruit, and other snacks.  There will also be a Kona Ice truck on site if you want to purchase Kona Ice.  Mr. Kelly will be playing music and...

Owl Time Assemblies are scheduled each month in order to celebrate the great things happening at our school, build school community and to learn together.  We are excited to invite our local first responders to our first Owl Time Assembly this year.

In addition to our changes in the H-pod, we are also looking forward to a blacktop make over on our playground.  Due to the amazing effort of our students during our Fun Run, Home and School will be funding some colorful changes to our playground.
