In Person Guidelines
Arrival and Exit for Students - Parent(s)/guardian(s) must remain in their cars. Students need to line up using the social distancing markings on the ground. Parents need to say goodbye to their kids from the sidewalk and allow kids to walk to their grade level assigned entrance. Our greeters will be wearing their ID badges for students to identify them.
Students enter and exit the building using their assigned door (each grade level must use a different door - Third Grade: Gym Door; Fourth/Fifth Grade: Door by playground) Please see the map using this link.
Masks: We are adhering to a strict Mask-On-At-All-Times rule at school.
Face Coverings For Students Attending School In-Person
All students, staff, and families are expected to wear face coverings consistent with Washington Department of Health and Labor and Industries requirements.
- Face coverings should fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
- Face coverings should cover from the bridge of your nose to under your chin
- Face coverings can have multiple layers (2 or more) and should not have exhalation vents or valves
When your child is at school in-person, they may be provided with a new mask to wear if they do not have one. We have a supply of child-sized disposable and reusable masks on hand in case your child’s mask gets soiled or doesn’t cover their nose and mouth adequately.
Health Attestation
Each student must complete the health attestation (Health Check (bsd405.org) prior to entering the building DAILY. Download the app on your smart phone if you have not done so already. It makes it quick and easy to do before leaving your home.
- There are two ways to access Health Check daily: scan the QR code mailed to each student w/ smart phone OR go to: https://healthcheck.bsd405.org
- Add an icon to your phone or computer home screen for easy access: https://bsd405.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/BSD-Health-Check-Mobile-Home-Screen-Tip-Sheet-English.pdf
- Tip Sheet: https://bsd405.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/BSD-Health-Check-Staff-Tip-Sheet-English.pdf
There are markings on floors to ensure kids stay 6' apart - students need to follow these to help maintain social distancing.
In-Person Calendar
Please use the calendar in this link to identify days for in person and days for virtual learning.
Family Satisfaction Survey
February 23 to March 30, 2021
The Bellevue School District is conducting a survey to understand whether families across the district feel Informed, Supported and Empowered to contribute to their student’s success. It is a district priority to create long-lasting partnerships between families and schools for better student outcomes.
Families received an email and a unique survey link for each school where they have a student enrolled, which means they may receive multiple surveys. They will be asked to answer the survey based on the experience of their oldest child in the school. The survey is available in multiple languages including English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Korean, Arabic, Amharic, Japanese and simplified Chinese. For more information, please visit our frequently asked questions page.
English Language Proficiency Assessment (ELPA-21)
This spring, the annual English language assessment for the 21st century (ELPA21) will be given to all students in Washington who have qualified for English language learning services. This evaluation will help determine the level of support your students may need for the 2021-2022 school year. This is an in-person test that will be conducted in the school building. Students will take tests in socially-distanced groups.
Bellevue School District is committed to ensuring that all safety protocols are followed by CDC guidelines while students are in the building for the test. However, parents/guardians also have the right to decide that their student will NOT participate in state tests this spring. Please take this survey to let us know. Our PLE ELPA-21 testing calendar is attached to this email.
Please ask your child to bring their fully-charged computer, charger, and headset. Thank you for your support. We are here to answer any questions.
Sincerely,
Patti Shah, Multilanguage Facilitator
Chhoun Mey, Assistant Principal
Picture Day!
Our amazing PTA is organizing picture day for our students.
Yuen Lui is going to do pictures for all students on 4/27. They'll schedule virtual students on the break between morning and afternoon sessions, and also after school.
Boost
Childcare at our school is being provided by BOOST. Please visit our BSD website for program information and registration. Scholarships are available to families that qualify.
Science Fair
We are doing a Science Fair this year on Sunday, April 25th from 1-3pm!! Obviously, this will look much different than usual. We're going to have it outside under the covered area by the playground with tables socially distanced so students can display their projects. (Since the event is outside, though, we will not have power available)
We will have certificates and awards for all participating students! This is open to both virtual and hybrid grades preK-5th. Students are welcome to do a solo project or work with a friend or two!
Participants, please sign up by Tuesday, April 20th.
For more info go to https://www.phantomlakepta.org/Events.html
Specialist Schedule 3-5 Grade
To ensure our PLE students continue to access learning from their specialist educators (Physical Education, Library, Music, Art) students will receive Microsoft Teams invites to be accessed during their asynchronous learning time at home. Students will receive schedules to be used at home. Those schedules can also be found on this link: https://bsd405.org/phantomlake/2021/03/3rd-5th-specialist-schedule/
Fifth Graders: Hello Future Odle Vikings!
We enjoyed meeting students during our Q&A sessions in your classes and presenting to future Odle parents!
If you missed information about middle school course registration, please visit our registration web site: Incoming 6th Grade Student Registration
- Take time to look at all the electives we offer. Middle school is a wonderful time for students to explore topics that interest them, try something new, and find a community at school. I highly recommend viewing the FlipGrid videos of the different electives and words of advice from current Odle students to incoming students. If it asks for a log-in, you can use your student’s Microsoft log-in, which is the log in they use for the laptop. Odle Classes FlipGrid
- One Registration Forms submission per student. Once you have submitted your Forms you will not have the opportunity to change it. Any additional Registration Forms will not be accepted. Classes are not assigned on a first come, first served basis. Look over all options, discuss as a family, carefully fill out the Registration Forms, and submit once. Forms are due March 26th. Please direct questions to Odle’s registrar, Ms. Ng, at ngp@bsd405.org
If you want to review the video recording of our parent and family Q&A session, you can access that recoding here: Recording of Q&A for Incoming 6th Grade Families
Thank you for all you are doing to prepare your child for middle school. It’s going to be a great transition. We look forward to meeting them, soon!
