PLE Principals Update
March 15, 2021
Dear PHamily,
Lighthouse participated in a special event called Advent Conspiracy where they invited church members who are able to give toward four projects that addressed the needs of under-resourced and oppressed in Kenya, SE Asia and well as here in Bellevue. One of their projects is to support the wonderful work at PLE. As a result, the church members gave sacrificially a check for $12,000, hoping PLE PTA will get $2,000 and $1,000 in gift cards to the Family Connection Center. The work of PLE is vital to many families, so Lighthouse hopes this gift will encourage us as a staff to continue to invest in the lives and future of children in our community.
Warmly,
Melisa Macias, PLE Principal

Planning for Specialist Schedule 3-5 Grade
To ensure our PLE students continue to access learning from their specialist educators (Physical Education, Library, Music, Art) students will receive Microsoft Teams invites to be accessed during their asynchronous learning time at home. If the student attends in-person instruction in the mornings, the student will access the specialist educators in the afternoon virtually. If the student attends in-person instruction in the afternoons, the student will access the specialist educators in the morning virtually.
To accommodate this morning and afternoon schedule, PLE has blended students that attend in-person in the mornings or afternoons from multiple homerooms together for their specialist time. Your student may see two calendar invitations within Teams from each specialist, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Students will only join the specialist time when they are at home. While in-person at school, their homeroom teacher will not have your student join the Teams call virtually.
