PLE Principals Updates
January 19, 2021
Dear PLE Community,
We can’t believe we are less than a week away from welcoming our wonderful 2nd grade students back in the building! We wanted to give a HUGE shout out to all of YOU who have been working to great lengths for our students, families and our school. We could not have done ANYTHING without you and all your efforts. It’s not easy, but each and every day we continue to do it and push forward.
We also wanted to give an additional shout out to some special individuals. Andrea, Randi, Taylor, Lisa and Raymond (Andrea’s fiancé) for creating an AMAZING video for our students to watch before they come back to school. Please be sure and share this with your child before they are slotted to come back to in-person. It’s pretty cute!

In-Person Update
Arrival and Exit for Students
In order to ensure health and safety protocols are being properly implemented, these arrival and dismissal protocols serve to assist in reducing traffic flow, congestion and health attestations. Parent(s)/guardian(s) remain in their cars and refrain from leaving their cars or getting out of their cars. Students need to line up using the social distancing markings on the floor. Parents need to say goodbye to their kids from the sidewalk and allow kids to walk to their grade level assigned entrance. Our Greeters will be wearing their ID badges for students to identify them.
Students need to enter and exit the building using the assigned door. Please see the map below.

Health Check
Each student must complete the health attestation (Health Check (bsd405.org)) prior to entering the building daily. Download the app on your smart phone if you have not done so already. It makes it quick and easy to do before leaving your home.
- There are two ways to access Health Check daily: scan the code below w/ smart phone OR go to the website https://healthcheck.bsd405.org
- Add an icon to your phone or computer home screen for easy access: https://bsd405.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/BSD-Health-Check-Mobile-Home-Screen-Tip-Sheet-English.pdf

Procedures to pick up and drop off of emergency items
Parent/guardian drop off of items during the school day (to include half an hour before and half an hour after) is limited to emergency items only (medication, food due to dietary restrictions, personal hygiene needs, etc.). Drop-off of non-emergent needs will be prohibited. This includes, though is not limited to, items such as homework left at home and after-school activity equipment. Parents need to call the front office if an emergency item needs to be dropped off during school hours. Front office staff will grab the item from outside the front office. 425-456-5600

Specialist Schedule
We are so excited to begin providing grades K-2 in-person instruction in the coming weeks. To ensure your student continues to access learning from their specialist educators (Physical Education, Library, Music, and Art) your student will receive Microsoft Teams invites to be accessed during the asynchronous learning time at home. If your student attends in-person instruction in the mornings, your student will access the specialist educators in the afternoon virtually. If your student attends in-person instruction in the afternoons, your student will access the specialist educators in the morning virtually.
To accommodate this new morning and afternoon schedule, PLE has blended students that attend in-person in the mornings or afternoons from multiple homerooms together for their specialist time. Your student may see two calendar invitations within Teams from each specialist, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Students will only join the specialist time when they are at home. While in-person at school, their homeroom teacher will not have your student join the teams call virtually.
We look forward to serving your student as they begin our temporary morning or afternoon model of instruction. We are pleased to continue to provide access to Physical Education, Library, Music, Art, and Computer Science virtually as well.
