Vishay’s Itzehoe facility contains our most cutting-edge wafer factory.

Since 1996, our facility in Itzehoe, Germany has produced power MOS transistors for use in automotive, industrial, and consumer electronics and, soon, we will be opening an additional chip factory at the site for 300 mm wafer technology to help meet demand from the automotive industry. This requires us to double our capacities and create around 150 new jobs. We’re proud of our role in shaping the future of chip technology and advancing electromobility. 250 A wafer passes through up to 250 process steps in the cleanroom which takes between 5 and 12 weeks

Vishay’s components are everywhere

The power MOSFETs (metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors) that we develop and build are essential components for switching and converting electrical power as well as for power management. Our customers build these semiconductor components into high-tech products, like cell phones, tablets, and game consoles. Die neue 300mm Fabrik

Neben der Bestandsfabrik für die 200mm-Wafer-Produktion baut Vishay eine hochmoderne neue Fabrik für die 300mm-Wafer-Produktion. Dieser ultramoderne Standort, strategisch nahe Hamburg gelegen, wird unsere Produktionskapazitäten signifikant steigern und die Innovationskraft und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit insbesondere im Automobilsektor stärken. Die Fabrik wird zu den effizientesten und nachhaltigsten ihrer Art zählen, betrieben durch hochautomatisierte Systeme und dank modularem Aufbau zukünftig erweiterbar. Der Baufortschritt ist im Zeitplan, und mit der Inbetriebnahme im Jahr 2026 werden hier Halbleiterkomponenten für die Automobil- und Industrieelektronik gefertigt. Vishay bekräftigt mit diesem Projekt sein Engagement für technologische Exzellenz und wirtschaftliche Entwicklung in der Region.

Cleanest workplace far and wide

Our clean room, the centerpiece of the production area, uses a special ventilation system to keep the number of even the tiniest dust particles as low as possible. Air is constantly blown down from the ceiling where it exits the room through the a perforated floor. Temperature and humidity are also kept constant. People are actually the greatest source of particles, so employees only access clean room areas with special protective gear such as coveralls, gloves and masks.
