Virtual Workforce Open House on December 15

Join us for a Virtual Open House that will walk you through Three River’s job skill-related classes and programs in Allied Health, Manufacturing, and Professional Development. From the comfort and safety of home, staff will give an overview of available Spring Courses, ways to use SNAP benefits for course credit, the Manufacturing Pipeline as well as introduce local Community Partner Resources. The Virtual Open House will be offered on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 6:30-7:30 pm.

Student in Real Estate CourseThree Rivers non-credit training courses are short-term and perfect for those who want to learn new skills, reinvent their career, or gain personal or professional enrichment. At this virtual open house, you’ll learn about:

  • the many Allied Health programs being offered in some of the fastest growing careers in Connecticut, including Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), Dental Assisting, Pharmacy Technician, Community Health Worker (NEW), and more,
  • the comprehensive Professional Development courses like Real Estate Principles and Practices, Security Officer Training, and two new programs — CompTIA Network Certification and Certified Network Defender, and
  • Manufacturing Pipeline,

These courses can give your career a boost or help you start on a new path.

Many of the courses that Three Rivers offers are covered by SNAP benefits. Three Rivers SNAP Coordinator Tracy Dickson will discuss how individuals receiving SNAP benefits can use their benefits to gain skills, training and experience to increase employment opportunities.

Bret Jacobson, Three Rivers Manufacturing Director, will give a rundown on Three Rivers’ many immersive paths to a career in manufacturing. With education and training for students ranging from high school to adults, Three Rivers programs range from five-week training courses to two-year degree programs, many held at our state-of-the-art Three Rivers Community College Manufacturing Apprenticeship Center in Groton.

The Three Rivers Staff will be joined by community partners who will discuss other resources in the greater Norwich Area. The community partners are Rachael A. Martel, the Regional Adult Programs Facilitator at EASTCONN; Hector Sanchez, the Employment Coordinator of the City of Norwich; Carol LaBelle, the Senior Director of Programs & Special Projects of the Eastern CT Workforce Investment Board; and Eileen Telgarsky, a Program Specialist at the Eastern CT Workforce Investment Board.
