Wednesday – 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Thursday – 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Friday – 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Clergy consultation (virtual or in-person) by appointment anytime. In-home visits for Holy Communion are available. Please contact the parish office when someone is seriously ill or admitted to hospital.

The hospital will not contact the parish.

Please notify the office of any pastoral emergency that may arise at any time. All messages are forwarded.

COVID-19 Response

We strongly encourage all who are eligible to receive appropriate vaccines and boosters against infection with COVID-19. Holy Communion is distributed under both forms only by intinction at all services and may be received under the form of bread alone at the sole discretion of the communicant. Hand sanitizers are conveniently placed for easy access in all public spaces.

  • 7 PM – Tenebrae Service (Church)
    • Tenebrae (Latin for “darkness”) is a service celebrated throughout Western Christianity held during holy week characterized by gradual extinguishing of candles, and by the strepitus, or “loud noise,” taking place in darkness near the end of the service as the last candle is extinguished
    • Psalms, poetry, periods of silence, and brief readings from holy scripture guide reflections by those who participate

Thursday – March 28

Maundy Thursday

Maundy Thursday begins the Great Three Days (The Triduum) as we remember the Last Supper, the agony in the garden of Gethsemane and Jesus’ journey to the cross and crucifixion. The service culminates with the night vigil in the garden. What begins today does not truly end until the celebration of the Great Vigil on Easter Eve.

  • 5:30 PM – Agape Meal (Parish Hall)
    • A simple meatless supper of bread, cheese, olives, soup, etc.
    • A  form of spiritual preparation to celebrate the liturgy remembering the Lord’s Supper on Maundy Thursday

  • 7 PM – Solemn Eucharist and Washing of the Feet (Church)
    • Procession of Chapel of Repose to follow. Night Watch Garden Vigil follows until 10 PM

Friday – March 29

Good Friday

On this most solemn of days, we partner with our Episcopalian neighbors at Hope Church, Manheim, for joint services.

In the afternoon we will visit Hope Church for a meditation service and Stations of the Cross. Later that evening, we will return to St. Luke’s for the formal remembrance of the Passion and Death of Jesus with the liturgy from the Book of Common. Please join us for any or all of these services.

Hope Episcopal Church is located on Mountain Road, Manheim, PA, just south of the entrance to the Renaissance Faire off Rt. 72. Their address is 2425 Mountain Rd, Manheim, PA.

Joint Services at Hope Church, Manheim, PA:

  • 12 PM – 2 PM Meditation Service: The Seven Last Words 
    • Participants are invited to come and go as their schedule permits during this time

  • 2:15 PM – Family Stations of the Cross
    • Journey with Jesus in a the traditional steps of the “Station of the Cross” geared toward children and family participation
    • Ending about 3 PM

Joint Service at St. Luke’s Church, Lebanon, PA:

  • 7:00 PM Solemn Celebration of the Lord’s Passion (Church)
    • Remembrance of the Passion and Death of Jesus with the liturgy from the Book of Common Prayer

Saturday – March 30

A day dedicated to quiet reflection and anticipation of the joys of Easter. Trinity Chapel in the Parish Hall remains open for prayer and meditation.

  • 7:15 PM The Great Vigil of Easter (Church)
    • High drama marks The Great Vigil of Easter as we begin in silence and darkness only to watch mere sparks grow to great lights and quiet chants crescendo to triumphant songs that symbolize the triumph of Christ over death and the grave
    • Begins the long celebration of Easter that ends only on the Feast of Pentecost

Sunday – March 31

The Feast of the Lord’s Resurrection Easter Sunday

Join us as we proclaim the raising of Jesus Christ from the dead through word and song in a festive service marking the beginning of the Easter season. 

  • 8 AM Festal Eucharist (Church)
    • A joyous celebration of the Risen Christ
    • Includes organ prelude and Easter hymns led by St. Luke’s Chancel Choir
    • In-person only
    • Coffee hour to follow in the Auditorium
  • 10:30 AM Solemn Choral Eucharist (Church)
    • Sung service celebrating Christs triumphant rising, featuring all aspects of St. Luke’s music ministry, including its magnificent Austin organ, the Chancel Choir, and a complement of other instrumental accompanists

  • 11:45 AM Easter Egg Hunt 
    • All children are welcome
    • Eggs will contain both treats for the children and “St. Luke’s Bucks”
    • St. Luke’s Bucks will be used to vote for the children’s favorite charities from among three choices
    • St. Luke’s will donate a dollar for each “Buck” to that charity
