2017 Outdoor: A two-time All-American in the shot put and discus, while picking up All-MIAA honors in the shot put at the MIAA Outdoor Championships ... posted fourth-place finishes at the MIAA Outdoor meet to earn points for the Lions ... Had 13 top-five finishes and three event wins during the season ... Indoor - Burns earned All-American honors in the shot put at the NCAA D-II Indoor Championships ... picked up All-MIAA honors with a championship in the weight throw and a second-place finish in the shot put at the MIAA Indoor Championships ... Had a top five finish in every event he entered in the indoor season with four event wins.

2015 - Indoor - Burns netted a career best of 17.87m (58-7.50) in the MIAA Championships that earned him a third place finish and All-MIAA status in the vent ... finish3ed second in the weight throw at the MSSU Southern Invite, the KU Jayhawk Classic, at Central Missouri twice, while placing third in the shot put at Central Missouri and Oklahoma Baptist. 
Outdoor - Burns recorded career high in the shot put (16.97m - 55-08.25) and earned another All-MIAA honor with a third place finish at the 2015 MIAA Outdoor Championships ... Also netted career-highs in the discus (51.81m - 170-0) with a second place finish at Central Missouri, as well as a career-high in the hammer (55.79m - 183-0) with a fourth-place finish at the MIAA Championships ... Picked up a win at the ESU Twilight in the shot put. 

2014 - Indoor - Finished third in the MSSU "Southern" Invite weight throw with a throw of 15.51m (51-0)... At the 2014 Jawhawk Classic, placed second with a weight throw of 16.09m (52-9.5)... Finished fourth in both the weight throw (15.58m) and shot put (14.48) events at the UCM Classic....Finished fourth in weight throw at the MIAA Championship with a career best 16.95m (55-7.5)... Outdoor - Set a career best in hammer throw with a score of 49.68m (163.0) at the PSU "Wendy's" Invite... At the Pittsburg State Gorilla Invite, set a personal best discuss throw with 45.62m (149-8)... Placed fourth at the UCMO Mule Relays shot put event with a toss of 15.22m (49-11.25)... Topped a career best shot put record with 15.25m (50-0.5) at the MSSU Invite...
