2017 - 2017 All-MIAA ... saw action in 49 games with 42 starts as a junior for the Lions ... had 42 hits, 29 runs, 12 doubles a triple and 25 driven in playing mostly second base for Southern ... was 7-13 on the basepaths and had a .969 fielding percentage ... had four sacrifice flies and three sacrifice bunts. 

Prior to Southern – Alvarez played at Kent State University where he was a member of the team that won the 2016 MAC Conference Championship ... His season was cut short due to injury-playing in four games, making one start...In 2015, at nationally ranked Johnson County CC, he hit .352, with 13 doubles, 5 home runs, 40 RBIs, 22 walks, 24 strikeouts, and 12 stolen bases, while starting 59 games at 2B. He started 115 games in two years at JCCC...The team had a 50-win season in 2014 winning the East Jayhawk Conference Championship and made a World Series appearance in 2015 in Grand Junction, CO...n 2014, he earned 2B Honorable Mention and 2015 was a second-team All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.

High School – Alvarez prepped at Blue Valley Southwest in Overland Park, KS earning second-team All-State in 2013 and second-team All-EKL Conference in 2011 and 2013. 

Personal - Alvarez is the son of Anthony and Jennifer Alvarez and is a Marketing major.
