Voronov started to skate when friends of his parents signed him up for figure skating classes, and he liked the sport immediately. His parents wanted him to stop when he broke his collarbone in a skating accident two years later, but he insisted on continuing. Voronov missed the 2019 Russian National Championships due to injury.
