Good morning everyone, Could anyone on list, please give step by step instructions on how to set options in the reading pane of outlook for office 365 so that my message are being displayed to read properly? It seems that whenever I compose either a message too be sent, or when I am replying too a message that someone has sent words or sentences seem to get cut off when reading. I don’t have any idea, as to what needs to be changed within the reading pane of my outlook. I have an HP laptop computer running windows 11, and Jaws 2024 latest version. Greetings, I’ve got an interesting situation involving some of what I have to do for my new job. The agency for which I work has gone paperless, and I have to sign things like invoices and other important papers. The few bills we do get via paper are done by hand, but they would like to get away from that if possible. So far, I’ve had people scan things so that I can use Adobe Sign. That has worked well for most things, but again, some of these things aren’t working well digitally. A coworker asked if I might simply be able to load a PDF into Adobe and add a signature stamp to it. The problem is that now that I have a full adobe license (and even when I didn’t), once Adobe was set on screen reading mode for JAWS, I am not able to navigate around to different menus or options, and if I am able to do it, I have no idea what to do. I’ve only used Acrobat Reader to read PDFs and haven’t honestly done much with it in a greater sense. Can more be done? What do other people do for Adobe Signatures and stamps? I don’t want to let my agency know that what I need to do with signature stamps is not accessible until I know for sure. This stuff obviously works fine without JAWS, but that consists of a sighted person basically doing it for me. Thanks much.

Hello Listers, My subscription to the JFW group list is the daily digest version. Until several weeks ago, I could get a list of messages that appeared as links. I could then arrow down and click on any one of them to read the message and all its replies. Also, JAWS would read the number that indicated the number of replies. Now I get the group list but the messages do not appear as links and the number of replies is not spoken, so I can not access the replies. Any suggestions as to how I can get back the view of the messages as links? I use Windows 10, Outlook, and M365. Thanks, Paul Filpus

My student's new computer was purchased with office 365. when I search the apps I come up with outlook new but not outlook 365. Outlook new is a nightmare with JAWS. Where is outlook 365 hiding?

I use the jaws curser and arrow to the number of the graphic, but when I press jaws key pluss ctrl pluss g, it says error the jaws curser is not positioned on a graphic. Yesterday, I posted that Google Chrome was updated, and that when using it, Google Chrome now displays a message which is voiced by JAWS that tells when a download starts and when it is completed. Today, Microsoft Edge has also updated and now exhibits this same behavior with JAWS. I am unable to say whether there is an improvement with other screen readers. The current version of Microsoft Edge is, Microsoft Edge, Version 124.0.2478.109 If you wish to check if Microsoft Edge is updated to the current version, you may do the following, 1. Open Microsoft Edge. 2. Press the ALT key, followed by the letter F. 3. Press the letter B, wait a second, and press the letter M. 4. Microsoft Edge should do one of two things. It should say that Microsoft Edge is up to date, or it should immediately begin updating. 5. If Microsoft Edge updates, eventually there will be a "Restart Microsoft Edge" button on the update page, but JAWS doesn't voice this. 6. TAB a couple of times, and you should see this button. Hello everyone: In the Default Settings Centre, under: Web / HTML / PDFs\Reading subfolder, I have the option, "Skip Blank Lines While Navigating" unchecked. Up to, and including the March release of JAWS, when this option is unchecked, lines on web pages are displayed. However, in the latest release of JAWS, If the item is unchecked, the blank lines on a web page are no longer displayed, in other words, the option now behaves as if the item is checked, which is the default. Has anyone experienced this? When closing an app, Jaws goes silent and hitting alpha-numeric keys does nothing. Jaws+Q to get the app loaded gives nothing. If multiple apps opened, Alt+Tab will move to next app, but closing that app will put it back into limbo. Minimizing all apps will put me on the task bar, and the issue goes away, but whenever I close an app with new Jaws update, I get the limbo state. Using the latest Windows 11. Thanks, Dennis T. I just received a new update to Google Chrome today. The current version is now, Version 125.0.6422.61 (Official Build) (64-bit) In this new version, JAWS now tells when the download starts, the size of the file, and it also gives a notification that the download is complete. Have you tried setting your setting to “show details”? Alt+v then the letter ‘d’ should work.

When moving through my Download folder, I can’t get Jaws to announce the file’s date modified, type, size, etc., without using the Jaws cursor. Just arrowing down gives file name only. Any ideas? Thanks, Dennis T. Brown

I am considering a career change to social work but have stumbled upon an issue which I would like other users input. The concern I've referring to is that many social workers useelectronic health records to document notes. I was A genetic counselor who’s blind informed me via email that not all electronic health records are accessible with Jaws. I also inquired of Freedom SCENTIFIC, now Vispero if they were aware if electronic health records where accessible and the answer I was told that they could not assist me with this query. Sm my question is: Are any Jaws users aware if electronic health records, e.g. Epic, My Avatar, E'ClinicalWorks are accessible to use with Jaws. Hi. When I navigate by letter, word or line, JAWS sometimes verbalizes it, but sometimes doesn’t. It started I the past week or so. The problem occurs in Word and Outlook, that is, Office 2019, but as far as I can tell, not in my browsers, including Edge. I’ve run repairs on JAWS and Office 2019. The problem began while I was still using the March release of JAWS 2024, and it continues with the May release. My system is Windows 10. I don’t want to rely on Microsoft Accessibility Support, which wanted to uninstall Windows the time I called them for assistance with a different problem. The problem was eventually solved without doing anything so drastic. I’ve written to Vispero tech support, but so far no reply. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Hi, Using: W10 64 bit and May Jaws with the latest 115 Thunderbird. Does anyone know the answer to the following problem with the May Jaws? Went to the site and downloaded the Jaws May update. Didnpt have any problem with Jaws not reading emails etc but once inside a message, it can not be deleted with the delete key. Pressing escape to go back to the list of messages seems to be the only way of deleting a message with the delete key. The downloaded update was run again and up came the repair option which was run successfully according to a message on the screen. However, after a system reboot, the message in the latest Thunderbird could not be deleted from within the message. The message can be deleted from the message list though. Hope someone has a solution. Thanks Tom

Hi, Guys. Using JFW2023 and Win10 with a Mac Mini. When I'm at home I'm hooked up to an Audio Komplete mixer and speakers. If I need to do dictation I prefer to use my Aftershokz headset--the dictation is the latest thing on my plate. If I travel, it's just my Mac Mini and headset. I know that there are different places volume can be changed, but am not sure when to go where. For example, sometimes when I swwitch from speakers to headset the volume in the headset is really loud. When I look in the System Tray and right-click "Main Output 100", among the choices I have are "Open Sound Settings", "Open Volume Mixer," and "Sounds". Which one do I use to change what's coming through my Bluetooth headset? Also, can someone explain the difference between JFW volume and System volume, or point me to where I can read up on it myself? Thanks, Dani

Had to call FS and spent about an hour in tandem as the rep Jose downloaded the update and did the repair.
