Welcome to the Bellevue School District! This is an exciting time for our district. Built on our longstanding, global reputation of academic excellence, we offer some of the most engaging and innovative learning opportunities for preschool through high school students. We believe in preparing our students for the careers of the future, and we have the programs, services and course offerings to do just that. All of this is made possible by the most amazing educators. Our teachers are not only great at instructing – they also affirm, support and inspire students every day!
Most importantly, Bellevue is a ‘beloved community’ that cares for one another and works together to raise the next generation who are capable, kind and committed to making the world a better place. Together, we are Bellevue. Once again, welcome. We’re happy to have you!
Enroll Your Student
In the Bellevue School District, students are assigned to a school based on the address where the student physically resides. Find your school. Students are required to enroll in their attendance area school unless they have applied to and have been approved to attend a different school within the district. If you are enrolling a student in your attendance area school or have an approved transfer (resident or nonresident), you may continue with the enrollment process.
Glossary of Enrollment Terms
Apply: Families wishing to attend a BSD school not in their attendance area must apply before they may enroll. All families must submit applications to if they wish to attend choice schools or programs, preschool or Bellevue Digital Discovery. If there is space available in their selected school or program, families will receive a placement offer. If accepted, the appropriate department will communicate with families regarding next steps. Bellevue Digital Discovery accepts applications throughout the school year.
Attendance Area School: All addresses within the boundaries of the Bellevue School District are assigned to a school. Find your school. Students are guaranteed a spot at their attendance area school and do not need to apply to attend.
Enroll: To enroll in the Bellevue School District, a student must be a Bellevue resident or have an approved transfer from another district. Enrollment takes place through ParentVUE and requires families to provide student and family information, health information, residency information or nonresident paperwork as applicable. Once a student is enrolled, they do not need to re-enroll each year; they will automatically move up to the next grade.
Nonresident: A nonresident family lives outside of the Bellevue School District boundaries. Nonresident families must first apply to a BSD school, choice school or program, preschool or Bellevue Digital Discovery. If there is space available, they will receive a placement offer. If accepted, the appropriate department will communicate with families regarding next steps. Once accepted to the district, they do not need to apply each year and will continue to roll up to the next grade as long as the student remains in good standing and we can serve their needs. Nonresident families must submit a Choice Transfer Request each school year when requested by Student Placement.
Register: Registration refers to the process of requesting courses by middle and high school students. Enrolled students will register each spring for the courses they intend to take the following school year, and students who enroll over the summer will register for courses before school starts.
Resident: A resident family lives within the Bellevue School District boundaries. Students who are residents are guaranteed a spot at their attendance area school.
Waitlisting: BSD will continue to accept applications through a waitlist process for all schools and programs. Students will be offered fall placement depending on capacity. Families who apply during the current school year will receive a placement offer if space is available, and they must accept within the timeframe requested. If accepted, Student Placement will provide enrollment instructions.
