Laser Beak Man, Australian artist Tim Sharp's creation at the Brisbane Festival

Tim Sharp was diagnosed with autism when he was 3 years old.

Doctors told his mum, Judy, that Tim would never be able to communicate.

But actually the opposite happened, with his mum's relentless support Tim started drawing and he's now a hugely successful artist.

Laser Beak Man - Tom's bright, happy cartoon superhero, has been turned into a TV series, a book, and is now a puppet show - it's one of the headline events of the Brisbane Festival which opened on the weekend.

The artists responsible for this transformation of Laser Beak Man are the Brisbane puppet company, Dead Puppet Society.

Nicholas Paine is its Executive Producer and he's joined by visiting USA puppeteers Jon Riddleberger and Betsy Rosen.
