Altenew March 2018 Stamp/Die Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello friends!
Warning: Photo-heavy post
s
If you stop by from the blog of Marge Yoon you are in the right spot.
If not, hop on it and come join the inspiration and fun.
For all the details of this blog hop, please visit Altenew Card Blog and Altenew Scrapbook Blog.

There are so many fabulous stamp and die designs in this release, let's get to it!

My first card is a subdue yet elegant kind of design.
s
This Pegboard Die can be whatever and however you want to use it.
You can use it to stitch a pattern or use it as a background...OR
AltenewPegboardCanvasCoverDie-WildFlowerGarden-Virginia#2

do what I do....stamp on it!
I did Partial Die-cutting with the Pegboard Die.
I applied a piece of Monochrome Washi Tape on the backside to prevent the bits from falling out.

s

I then did Generation/Color-layering Stamping with Wild Flower Garden.
AltenewPegboardCanvasCoverDie-WildFlowerGarden-Virginia#3

This card has textures, colors and depth.....yet it is nearly flat! I love that it is mail-friendly!

AltenewPegboardCanvasCoverDie-WildFlowerGarden-Virginia#1

The 2nd card is my CAS take on a simple die "Miss You".
Altenew-MissYou WordDie_Virginia#1

Two very simple scripty words Miss You...but they sure are so beautiful and powerful!
s
I stacked the die with Washi Tape and black card stock to make it more prominent.
In Asian culture particularly, white color depicts the feeling of emptiness and loneliness very effectively. And that is how I came up with using white "miss you"  repeatedly.

Altenew-MissYou WordDie_Virginia#3

As an after-thought, I decided to highlight the sentiment with the Halftone Heart Die.
It may be too subtle to be noticed, but I did add some splatter with Pure White Ink Splatter.

Altenew-MissYou WordDie_Virginia#2

The last card is a super bright and cheerful design with the Crossed-Stitched Flowers Stamp/Die Bundle!
s
I had lots of fun mixing the colors of the stitched flower!

Altenew-CrossStitchFlower-Virginia#1

I highly recommend getting the Cross Stitched Flower Die if you are getting this stamp.
s
This stitched look seems to be complicated, but it really is simple to do when you've got the GOODS!! 😀
Altenew-CrossStitchFlower-Virginia#2

The stitched look is amazing, isn't it?
Altenew-CrossStitchFlower-Virginia#3

I added some golden touches with glitter tape, gold sequins and Antique Gold Metallic Ink Spray.
Hope you like my 3 cards for the hop.

What's not to love...all three are spectacular and unique. The first card is ingenius...leaving those holed in so they could be stamped is brilliant. And the resulting card is so fresh and pretty. The second is amazing. Clean and heartfelt withe the diecuts in white and the lovely spattered heart. Just exquisite. And the last one is so fun and beautifully stitched. What an awesome trio of loveliness.

Very pretty, Miss Virginia. I love the cross stitch look.

Teri S. said...

What a brilliant idea you had to put washi tape on the back of the small dots die & then stamp on the front of it! As well, I think your Miss you card denotes that feeling of emptiness using the white like that. I have a friend I miss very much & I think I'll borrow your inspiration to do a card for her even though I don't (yet) have the die.

AND I totally agree--the die really makes the cross-stitch flower and butterfly look amazing. Thank you.

Beautiful cards today - I really love the wildflowers stamped on the pegboard texture. NEVER would have thought to do that myself and it looks so amazing!
