Application for Participation in the SBSD Superintendent Search Process
The South Burlington School Board (Board) has announced its intention to fill the anticipated vacancy of District Superintendent with an interim Superintendent for fiscal year 2023 with an aim to hire a long-term Superintendent beginning in fiscal year 2024. To assist in the effort, the Board wishes to appoint and engage a Search Committee that includes members of the South Burlington community who represent diverse stakeholder groups, interests, and perspectives. Committee members will serve for a period of up to 6 months.
Although the Search Committee's ultimate responsibility will be to make hiring recommendations to the Board for both positions, the Committee will actively support various activities including participation in regular Committee meetings, collecting, and sharing input from the community member groups represented (e.g. parents, students, teachers...etc.), and participation in the candidate interview process.
The Board invites members of all South Burlington communities to apply for participation in the search process. Please be assured that the selection of the Superintendent position is of utmost importance, and we will be diligent in our efforts to involve as many community group interests as reasonably possible. To accomplish this, we will use a process similar to that used by the District in the past that includes engagement of selected administrators, teachers, staff, and community members.

The Board will review all applications and notify applicants via email by May 3rd, 2022.
