Life is Better Card

Hi, everyone! Back again with another card to share with you. Made a few more color blocked backgrounds when I made this recent card. So, of course, I used one to make today’s card. Wink!

Created that background with a lot of masking and lot of inking. It sounds all super hard but it only took a couple minutes, and I made several backgrounds like it since I had the supplies out on my desk. The beauty of backgrounds like it are no single one is alike.

The die was cut with a Simon Hurley die from Spellbinders. I cut it a few times and stacked the die-cuts up to make the leaf. I added a hearty layer of Stickles on top, just to give it a bit of razzle dazzle.

The sentiments were stamped with stamps from Pretty Pink Posh and Simon Says Stamp. Finished the card off with a few sequins to add a little bit more razzle dazzle.

That’s it for me. Short and sweet today. I’ll be back later, gators.

Sending Hugs Bunny with Envelopes

Hi, guys! We meet again. Sharing another card with you today. Just can’t get enough of the Big Bunny stamp set from Sunny Studio. That bunny. Swoon. Love coloring in the big guy.

Just wanted to create a goofy little scene so I stamped and colored in the envelopes a few times. Added some hearts. And I used my fingers, a pencil and a thin piece of craft wire to fashion some glasses for him. Wire is always a fun way to make glasses for stamped critters.

The embossed background was created with Sunny Studio’s Sunburst Embossing Folder. Their folders are 6×6 inches so you can emboss a small panel of paper or a big one to use it on a bigger card or can cut it down. I always like to emboss a big panel so I can cut my panel down and use the leftover piece on another project.

I used the Holiday Hugs stamp set to stamp the sentiment on a plain old piece of cardstock. Could have gone with something else but it worked perfectly for this card.

Well, that’s all I have. I’ll be back again later.

Thinking of You Circle Card

Hi, all! Sharing three cards in a week? It’s been a minute. Feeling like a bit like a card sharing imposter, but nope! I promise. It really is me with another card to share.

Is this my favorite card ever? Nope. It’s not. But it was a fun one to make and just have fun experimenting.

Created the background and circle with embossing folders from Spellbinders and Sunny Studio. Cut plaid pattern (Spellbinders) into a circle and then just used my fingers to apply some of Simon Hurley’s Lunar Paste from Ranger on top. Is the application perfect? Nope. But I do love the bold, shiny look it gave the circle. The paste is kinda like butter. You don’t need a whole lot. A little goes a long way. And it dries really fast too.

The branch was cut with a Simon Hurley Spellbinders die. I cut it a couple times. Stacked the dies up and then added some Stickles on top for a little sparkle.

Once again, I used a Cathy Zielske stamp set from Simon Says Stamp to stamp the sentiment strip. Finished the card off with a few sequins. I used sequins over gems a lot because I am cheap. Just kidding… kinda. But they are a fairly flat embellishment to put on a card and mail, as opposed to gems. I do love gems but it is easier to mail flat things.

Alright. That’s it for me. Short and sweet with today’s card.

Thanks again for stopping by. Always a pleasure.

You’ve Been on My Heart Coffee Card

Hi, all! What’s the buzz, friends? Just giggling to myself and ready to share another card with you. Huge hint in the second sentence! Wink!

Meet today’s card. It’s coffee-fied!

Just had some fun here with this one.

The cups images from Ink Blot Shop’s Hot & Cold Drinks stamp set. These are super easy to color, plus you can do a lot with them! This is just basic coloring, but imagine really styling them up with embellishments and all. They are easy to fussy cut as well.

The sentiment strip also uses a stamp from Ink Blot Shop. It came from their Crafty Hearts set.

Created the colorful background blocks awhile ago. They were leftover from a project shared on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog where I made my own texture paste to use with stencils. Super, super fun technique. The little strip at the bottom is some scrap patterned paper from another project. It came from Sunny Studio. I really love the pack it came from because…. gray! Gray goes with so much.

Can’t say much else about this card, other than thank you for checking it out and stopping by! See you again soon!

Stellar Human Card

Hi, everyone! Back again to share another card with you. On your mark. Get set. Here you go…

Ta-da! (Wink!)

Just a fun one. Did some ink blending and masking to make the colorful panel. It’s a thing I’ve seen done lots lately online and just decided to pull out a bunch of inks and give it a whirl while I was recovering and resting. Creating backgrounds to use on future projects is a fun way to pass the time when you can’t sit at a craft desk for long.

The branch was cut with a die I got in a grab bag awhile back from Trinity Stamps. I die-cut a couple times and stacked it up to have a little bit of bulk. They have so many wonderful products. I recommend giving them a try. If you see their once-a-year grab bag sale, grab one so you can try out their line. So many unique products… and well-designed too.

Created the textured panel with the help of a Spellbinders embossing folder.0 The sentiment strip was stamped with a Cathy Zielske stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. And just for fun, and visual interest, I added a couple photo corners from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. I have not scrapbooked in so long, and yet these are a fun addition for my stash. I love the look they add to cards, especially when paired with similar colors.

Alrighty! That’s it for me. I’ll be back again later, gators. Thanks, as always, for stopping by. Always a treat.

Sending Bunny Hugs

Hi, everyone! Yay! Back with another card to share with you today. I can’t get enough of Sunny Studio’s Holiday Hugs stamp set. They’ve got another set with big critter in it, Big Bunny. Dig it just as much! So, yeah, got a card that pairs it up with some elements from the Holiday Hugs set.

Ta-da! (Wink!) Truly, one of my favorite things with stamping is when you can use different sets together and that is the beauty of these two sets! You can use them together to make all kinds of cute, cute, cute scenes. That is what I did here.

I did add a little embossing to the frame around the card. I embossed a piece of cardstock with one of Sunny Studio’s embossing folders and then cut the frame to fit the card. Easy peasy.

Truly any embossing folder with a small pattern would have worked. This just happened to be sitting next to my desk. I can’t be the only crafter out there, who just grabs what is close and is sometimes (sad but true) too lazy…. errr… into a project… to get up and look for something else. You feel me, right? Wink!

Anyway, this is definitely not the last of the Big Bunny projects you’ll be seeing. Got a few more I’ll be sharing in the coming days. See you again soon!

Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge 27

Hi, everyone! Back with another card to share. I was inspired by the latest Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge (No. 27) to play. The challenge this time? To create a holiday card with at least one green element.

I took some time off from crafting over the last few months while recovering from getting an infection. I’ve slowly roared back to my old crafty self by doing little crafty things here and there before finally making some cards again! This little bear from Sunny Studio’s Holiday Hugs stamp set is one of many I colored while getting back in the swing of things. I just love this little guy.

I gave him a coffee cup (from Pretty Pink Posh’s Winter Drinks set) as well as some hearts and steam. I can’t remember where the little conversation heart bubble came from but it was tucked away in my little box of leftover from old projects.

To give the little bear a little extra personality, I took a thin piece of wire and twisted up some glasses for him.

All the patterned papers are from Sunny Studio too.

To finish up the card, I just added a sentiment created with a few words from the Holiday Hugs stamp set as well. Easy peasy.

That’s all I have for today. Thanks again for the challenge, Caffeinated Christmas crew! 🙂 I’ll be back again soon with another card.

A Sneak Peek or Two… or Three…

Hi, everyone!

I’ve been sharing a few projects lately over on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog. I’ve been having lots of fun using their adhesives, trying some new to me things too!

Here’s a peek of a tutorial, showing how to make your own DIY Stencil Paste with one of their adhesives and a couple other ingredients.

I loved trying this technique out and made several different backgrounds to use on future projects. Definitely going to do it again.

This tutorial shows you how to use their products to make a couple cards with lots of texture! One of the things I love is being able to take their 3D Foam shapes and add flock or glitter to them. It’s super fun to add foil when you don’t want to add texture but instead a hint of glitz.

Do you like to make backgrounds by blending different inks together? This tutorial shows a fun hack for making your own masking strips to create backgrounds with.

I hope you’ll go give them a look!

Thanks for stopping by!

Today’s Card: The One I Forgot to Share (11-16)

Hi, everyone! Back again with another card to share with you. Made this one a bit back, but never got around to sharing it. So… yeah. Here I am… with a card!

Just a simple card, created with a cute little Summer-themed stamp set from Lawn Fawn. Dies too.

The sentiment is from Pretty Pink Posh, while the gray paper in back is from Sunny Studio Stamps. That paper is really becoming on of my favorite neutrals these days. Goes with so much.

To finish the card design, I pulled out my trusty black pen and added a little (imperfect-o… all the way) stitching around it. Let’s be real. I couldn’t make it perfect if I tried… so let’s embrace the imperfection type of stuff.

Alrighty! That’s what I got! I will be back again later, gators! Thanks for stopping by!

PS. I’ve been over on the Scrapbook Adhesives blog a lot lately. You’ll find many of projects here.

PSS. The Online Card Classes crew has another fun class planned. I’m looking forward to this live class they’ve got scheduled. No project pressure. Just techniques to try.

Happy Thoughts Sunset Cards

Hi, everyone! Welcome back! It’s been a minute… or two… or maybe three! Wink!

Just wanted to share a few quick cards I created recently while playing around! Meet today’s cards!

These cards were super fun to create! I started by applying ink through a tropical-inspired stencil by Erin Lee Creative. A little yellow… a little orange and then a little blue! Easy peasy!

It needed a little something so I then inked up a text background from Trinity Stamps and stamped it right on top of it!

To round out the design I added a sentiment from Pretty Pink Posh and a few stamped stars. I also added a little strip of neutral gray and white patterned paper and a few enamel dots.

This design was so easy… and came together quickly so I made several cards in the same setting. Of course, I was feeling a bit lazy. (Sad but true.) I kept with the same color combo but you could easily change it up for a more unique look.

Alright! That’s it for me! I’ll be back again soon. Promise.
