2017-18 REDSHIRT SENIOR


*Named MVC Sixth Man of the Year and MVC All-Bench Team captain
Played in all 33 games and made five starts...Led the team in 3-point field goals (49) and attempted (137)...Made at least one 3-pointer in 19 games...Salukis were 12-7  when he made multiple 3-pointers in a game...Reached double figures in scoring 11 times...Recorded his first career double-double against North Carolina A&T with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

2016-17 SENIOR


Injured his knee in the season opener against Wright State and was granted a medical redshirt.

2015-16 JUNIOR


Led the team in 3-point shooting percentage (.405)... Made at least two treys in 15 games...Seventy-three percent of his shot attempts came from 3-point range...Had a career-high 16 points at Indiana State.

2014-15 SOPHOMORE


Played in 32 games and made 20 starts...Made 15-of-37 (.405) from 3-point in the last 14 games...Second on the team in 3-pointers (25)...Had a season-high 14 points at Missouri State.

2013-14 FRESHMAN


Started 12 games and averaged 7.7 points as a starter while shooting .419 from 3-point range...Made the winning 3-point shot vs. Illinois State on March 1 with nine seconds left...Made two free throws with one second left to send the Loyola game on Feb. 1 to OT...Made at least one 3-pointer in nine-straight games from Jan. 22 to Feb. 22.

HIGH SCHOOL


In his senior season, led Harrisburg to a 33-1 record and 2A state championship...Named IBCA First-Team All-State and Southern Illinoisan Co-Player of the Year (with teammate Capel Henshaw)...Averaged 17.5 points, six assists and 4.7 rebounds, while shooting 40 percent from 3-point range...A three-time River-to-River All-Conference and All-South honoree...Ended his career as the second-leading scorer in HHS history.

PERSONAL


Born Dec. 26, 1993...Son of Randy and Patricia Smithpeters...Played basketball for his father at Harrisburg High School...Has four brothers and one sister...Brother of former Saluki Kyle Smithpeters, a walk-on guard who played on SIU's 2005 and 2006 NCAA Tournament teams. Kyle is currently the head coach at John A. Logan College in nearby Carterville.
