Samantha Power named Johns Hopkins commencement speaker

Power, Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, and Pulitzer Prize-winning author, will address the Class of 2022 at the university’s commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 22.

Three Hopkins alumni named Paul and Daisy Soros Fellows

Quenton Bubb (A&S ’15), Zubia Hasan (A&S ’21), and Alexander Pisera (Engr ’17) are among 30 recipients of the Soros Fellowship, which honors immigrants and children of immigrants poised to make meaningful contributions to United States society and culture, as well as in their academic fields.

Homewood bound, two years later

Over 4,000 alumni returned to Baltimore in late March to celebrate the first in-person reunion since 2019. 480 graduates from the Class of 2020 and their guests gathered for a special commencement ceremony two years after the pandemic disrupted their senior year on campus.
