Submit Comments to the Planning Board

Anyone may submit written comments and/or speak in person on any items that come before the Denver Planning Board. The board reviews items according to criteria that varies depending on what the item is. 

When to submit comments

The sequence for most cases reviewed by the Planning Board is as follows:

  1. Planning Board public hearing
    • Comment window #1: Once the date of a public hearing has been set, all comments submitted by 5 p.m. 9 days before the  hearing are included in the staff report distributed to Planning Board members.
    • Comment window #2: After the staff report deadline, comments may be submitted until noon on the day of the hearing.
  2. Denver City Council’s Land Use, Transportation and Infrastructure Committee meeting
    • The committee meets Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m. Comments submitted by noon on the Thursday before the meeting will be included in the staff report presented to committee members
  3. Denver City Council public hearing
    • City Council meets every Monday at 5:30 p.m. Comments submitted by noon on the Thursday before the meeting will be included in the staff report presented to council members. After that deadline, comments may be emailed to dencc@denvergov.org until 3 p.m. the day of the hearing.  

 

Public hearing rules

Members of the public may address Planning Board members at board meetings. Speakers are limited to three minutes. One speaker may cede his or her time to another speaker for a total of six minutes.
