The goal of the Parkland Garden Club is to promote interest in the art of gardening and floral design, horticulture, the conservation of trees, and the protection of wildflowers, beneficial insects, and birds.

Parkland Garden Club members have been very busy organizing and preparing for the 25th Silver Anniversary of the annual Garden Tour which will be held on Saturday July 13th from 9:00 to 4:00, rain or shine. This tour showcases the beautiful and creative properties of talented gardners right here in the Parkland area. All proceeds from the tour and silent auction are used to help support beautification and community outreach activities in our neighborhoods. Save the date to join us for this wonderful event!

Parkland Garden Club members will meet on April 19th at 10:00 at the home of president Claire to wrap tree seedlings for the Parkland School District first graders. With over 800 seedlings to process, many hands will help shorten the workload!

The PGC Arbor Day Program at the Lehigh Valley Zoo will be held on April 26th at 1:00. Members will be planting trees and shrubs in honor of loved ones or special events. All are welcome.

A members-only workshop presented by Parkland Garden Club member Kirk Brown will be held on May 6th at 5:00 at Eagle Point Farm Market on Trexlertown Road in Allentown. Kirk will guide us in selecting plants for the most visual impact in our containers. Owner Gayle Ganser will be on hand to provide container soil and treat us to delicious wine and cheese! $20 Eagle Point fundraising coupons are available from our Ways and Means table at the regular meetings. They can be used to purchase plants to fill the containers.

Join Parkland Garden Club members on May 17th and 18th for fantastic yard sale bargains, delicious baked goods and of course plants! Funds earned from this sale go directly to support community projects, scholarships and beautification in our area.

Members are invited to plan to attend the District II/III Meeting hosted by the Garden Club of Montrose on June 5th from 10:00 to 1:30 in Montrose, PA.

The Butterfly Garden Committee met for the first Spring clean-up on April 10th. Recent rain and warm temperatures brought out a beautiful display of daffodils!

The Church Potting Group Committee met recently to do a fresh Spring planting in the large containers at the entrances to Jordan Lutheran Church.
