ALUMNI
Sarah Maloney’s botanical art with feminist roots
Sarah Maloney transports viewers to a wonderland of her own design, while confronting the ideals of Western colonialism, art history, pleasure, and power.
“There’s a whole generation of women prior to me, who decided the only way you could be taken seriously as an artist is not to have children… On more than one occasion, I was questioned about my seriousness as an artist because I had three children.”
Our graduates are known both locally and internationally for their boundless ingenuity and intense curiosity. Alumni go on to have incredible careers—within and beyond the art world—as artists, entrepreneurs, teachers, administrators, academics, and creative professionals. Their paths may be different but there is one thing they all share, their lives were shaped by their time at NSCAD.
